Watkins Glen is hiring for Ticket Office Event Staff. This position will provide customer service, product upsell, and order processing via telephone, mail, and walk-ups. This is a part-time seasonal position and must be able to work all major event weekends including Sahlen’s Six Hours of the Glen (June 20-23), FLWF (July 26-28), Hilliard US Grand Prix (Aug 23-25) and NASCAR Weekend Go Bowling at the Glen (September 11-15).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
•    Selling parking passes to all walk-up customers.
•    Process credit card payments.
•    Serve as a staff member working in a ticket booth.
•    Develop a working knowledge of track pricing, policies, procedures, and general event information. As the first line for guest questions, Event Ticketing Staff must be able to answer questions or direct guests in the proper direction.
•    Direct vehicle traffic flow to proper areas.
•    Assist guests with questions regarding directions, information about the facility, and parking assistance.
•    Handle will-call requests at the ticket office. 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
•    High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

•   2 years completed toward a Business Administration, Marketing, or Sports Management Degree.
•    1-2 years’ event staffing or ticket sales experience preferred.

• Customer service experience is helpful.

OTHER SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND/OR QUALIFICATIONS
•    Minimum 18 years of age.
•    Ability to work outdoors in changing weather conditions for extended periods.
•    Attention to detail and ability to provide a high level of customer service is required.
•    Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.

Watkins Glen International is hiring for Cleaner/Custodial Event Staff. This position will perform a variety of duties necessary to maintain all aspects of the track facility with special emphasis on event preparation, track rentals, and on-site activities. This is a part-time seasonal position.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

• Sweep and mop floors.
• Clean buildings by emptying trash, sweeping, and cleaning surfaces.
• Use cleaning solutions to remove stains and clean surfaces.
• Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, and squeegees.
• Dust furniture and scrub surfaces clean.
• Clean and service restrooms with mops and disinfectants.
• Identify and report possible repairs.
• Positive interaction with other facilities staff to ensure the best-case scenario for accomplishing respective tasks.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Cleaning experience preferred.

OTHER SKILLS, ABILITIES, and/or QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum 18 years of age.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Successfully pass a driving record check. (Preferred, not required).
• Ability to work outdoors in changing weather conditions for extended periods.

Watkins Glen International is in need of a general maintenance position.  This role encompasses working with building maintenance, housekeeping and landscaping. It  is responsible for performing custodial, minor maintenance and other miscellaneous duties for properly maintaining the grounds and facilities.

This role will work and train with other experienced employees in maintaining the facility during large and small events.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Participates in general cleaning, and repair work

• Uses hand and power tools in making minor maintenance repairs and maintaining grounds and walks

• Move furniture and equipment upon instruction

• Uses brooms, mops, and floor equipment to sweep, mop, and clean floors

• Gathers and disposes of trash and waste materials using specified procedures

• Replenishes restroom supplies

• Sets up and tears down chairs, tables, and equipment

• Clean debris and dust from the assigned areas

• Maintain the overall condition of the building and grounds

• Other duties as assigned

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None

ATTENDANCE REQUIREMENTS: Hours will vary but will include all hours of operation, evenings, weekends and holidays as necessary to attend events and to fulfill job responsibilities. Acceptance of work hours customary in the field of sport/entertainment is necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Must be able to read, comprehend, and communicate simple instructions and write simple correspondence.
• Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Must be able to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
• Must possess a valid New York driver’s license.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk and use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit; and taste or smell. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. The Event Experience Specialist is responsible for assisting the Special Events Department in the strategic development and implementation of new and existing major events.

Responsibilities:

• Assist the Special Events Department in all areas of event planning and event activation     
• Support the Coordinator, Special Events with event responsibilities    
• Collaborate with other departments prior to and during event execution
• Assist with all Fan Experience activations including pre-race, Victory Lane, driver appearances, NASCAR Kids Zone, and concerts
• Perform additional duties and responsibilities as needed
