ARIAM Hub is a collaboration between leading academic researchers and experts from the Australian robotics industry supported by the Australian Research Council to deliver research excellence in robotics for asset management. ARIAM spans 3 renowned Australian universities: The University of Sydney, QUT and ANU. This position will be supervised by Dr Donald Dansereau, head of the Robotic Imaging Lab within the Australian Centre for Robotics (ACFR) at the University of Sydney. The ACFR is one of Australia’s leading robotics research groups, and the Robotic Imaging Lab is focused on endowing machines with new ways of seeing the world.

We are expanding our team and have multiple positions opening as part of ARIAM. We are currently seeking an ambitious and talented Postdoctoral Research Associate to undertake fundamental and applied research in novel computer vision approaches to high-fidelity drone-based 3D reconstruction of buildings and infrastructure. As part of the Australian Robotic Inspection and Management Research Hub (ARIAM), this position involves working closely with Hub Industry Partner Trendspek on their precision asset modelling and intelligence technology. As part of the research hub you will have opportunities to travel and collaborate with our partners across Australia.

Our current research will focus on combining novel scene representations and computational imaging approaches to enable greater performance in modelling visually challenging scenes from drone-based imagery. Depending on interest and ability there is also scope to develop novel imaging technologies to further improve performance.

This robotic vision-focused position will advance the 3D reconstruction technology required for modelling complex 3D infrastructure. Key challenges include complex appearance due to reflective and transparent surfaces, complex geometries, and dense occlusion from vegetation.

Depending on ability and interest, candidate approaches can include combining representations and visual processing from the graphics and vision communities, including inverse rendering and novel visual and geometric representations, and novel computational imaging devices and algorithms. This project will offer dramatic improvements in sensing robustness and performance, and geometric and textural accuracy in drone-based 3D asset inspection.

In this role you will:

? work closely with a team of project academics, engineers, and PhD students
? develop and characterise novel robotic vision representations, algorithms and/or imaging technologies
? contribute to the ARIAM Hub’s demonstrator program that will showcase your research and that of other Hub projects
? contribute as a researcher to project report preparation, presentation at internal workshops, and dissemination at top international conferences and journals as well as via internal workshops and presentations.

We are seeking an ambitious and talented Postdoctoral Research Associate to undertake fundamental and applied research related to the degradation of fuel cells for advanced air mobility application.

Reporting to ARC Future Fellow and Associate Professor Dries Verstraete, as Postdoctoral Research Associate in Fuel Cell Degradation for eVTOL aircraft, you will work with a team of PhD students to quantify fuel cell durability for advanced air mobility applications. You will drive the development of degradation models for electrochemical energy sources tailored to eVTOL (electric vertical take-off and landing) applications and take a leadership role in generating high quality research output. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to improved longevity of energy sources for aeromedical eVTOL aircraft. We are seeking to appoint a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Veterinary Pathology, to join a team of outstanding world class clinical specialist academic colleagues at the University Veterinary Teaching Hospital Camden. Pathology is a core discipline in the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine curriculum and includes all species. The position located at Camden has a focus in Equine, Livestock, Wildlife and Exotics, that complement the small animal and pre-clinical teaching across both campuses. The discipline of Veterinary Pathology operates NATA accredited diagnostic laboratories at both campuses with a team of 6 diagnostic pathologists, 3 anatomical pathology residents and a high quality technical team across the diagnostic disciplines including haematology, serum biochemistry, microbiology, histopathology and molecular diagnostics.

The Lecturer (Level B)/Senior Lecturer (Level C) will be based predominantly on the Camden campus within the University Veterinary Teaching Hospital Camden (UVTHC) and research groups. Regular attendance at the Sydney campus will be required.

The UVTHC provides a range of large and small animal veterinary services to the community and referring veterinarians. As a teaching facility it provides clinical instruction to final year veterinary students and offers a number of postgraduate residency training programs.
This is an opportunity to take a leading role in the faculty's teaching and research initiatives in the area of farm animal anatomical pathology and provide high quality diagnostic support for farm and companion animal anatomical pathology.
Your key responsibilities will be to:

• oversee and further develop the UVTHC pathology clinical and teaching services
• co-ordinate veterinary pathology teaching and training to final year undergraduate students engaged in small group UVTHC rotations, and participate in further expansion of a residency training program across the pathology services of both campuses
• liaise and support selected diagnostic work with external veterinarians (food safety)
• maintain reputation for academic excellence

We are looking for a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Project Leadership and the Organizational Dynamcis of Projects to work as part of the team in the John Grill Institute for Project Leadership, in the Faculty of Engineering, working on research projects, and helping to liaise and support two research themes working with senior academics from the internal management group, whose members are drawn from across the School of Project Management, as well as from other Schools and Faculties in the university, including the Business School. • Project leadership. We are seeking to appoint a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Radio Follow-up of Gravitational Wave Events to work in the OzGrav Centre of Excellence. The successful candidate will lead a comprehensive follow-up campaign using multiple Australian and international facilities. They will also take a leadership role within the Centre of Excellence and Professor Tara Murphy’s research group.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

• investigate gravitational wave events by studying their radio and multi-wavelength properties
• lead multi-wavelength follow-up programs, in particular radio, of gravitational wave events

• write software to support data collection and analysis

About the opportunity

We are seeking to appoint a Postdoctoral Researcher in Multi-wavelength Studies of Gravitational Wave Events to work in the OzGrav Centre of Excellence. The successful candidate will work with the OzGrav team on multiwavelength follow-up of gravitatational wave events and other transient radio sources.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

• investigate gravitational wave events by studying their radio and multi-wavelength properties
• contribute to multi-wavelength follow-up programs of gravitational wave events and radio transients
• help develop models of the host galaxies and likely progenitors of these transient events
• publish original work in high quality journals
• co-supervise students at the undergraduate and postgraduate level
• develop your research profile through conferences and seminars

The ARC Centre of Excellence for Gravitational Wave Discovery (OzGrav) was established in 2017 to use the historic first detections of gravitational waves to understand the extreme physics of black holes and warped space time. These discoveries will inspire the next generation of scientists and engineers to make use of this new window on the universe.

The School of Physics at the University of Sydney is a node of OzGrav, and is the leading School of Physics in the country, with outstanding staff and students undertaking world-leading teaching and research. Our 114 academic staff and 157 postgraduate students conduct research across a vast range of interests from nanoparticles to clusters of galaxies and from theoretical modelling to laboratory experiments. About you

About the opportunity

Established as the first computer science department in Australia, the School of Computer Science (SCS) is research intensive and has a strong tradition of research-led teaching. The School offers undergraduate majors in computer science, information systems, data science and software development within its flagship Bachelor of Advanced Computing degree and combined degree programs with commerce and science. SCS is one of the seven schools in the Faculty of Engineering, which has a strong position within Australia and worldwide.

We are currently seeking to appoint a Postdoctoral Research Associate to contribute to a range of research activities focused on deep learning and its applications in computer vision. In this role you will conduct high-quality research, publish research works in top tier conferences and journals and assist with the supervision of PhD/MPhil students.

Working closely with Dr. Chang Xu, the candidate will focus on developing novel algorithms and theories to boost the efficiency of deep neural networks and explore their computer vision applications.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

• contribute to research publications and present findings at relevant conferences and seminars,
• assist in teaching and curriculum development for relevant courses related to deep learning,
• collaborate in the planning and organization of events, seminars, and workshops related to the research area
• participate in the preparation and submission of research grant,
• provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members and assist in their research projects.

About you

• demonstrated contributions to publications in top tier conferences and journals (e.g., IEEE T-PAMI, IEEE T-TIP, CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, ICML, NeurIPS, ICLR and ACM SIG-KDD).
