As a Cabler / Telecommunications Technician at Polstream Communications, your primary duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Establish communication systems by installing, operating, and maintaining voice and data telecommunications network circuits and equipment
Plan and execute network installations
Establish voice and data networks by running, pulling, terminating, and splicing cables and installing telecommunications equipment
Verify service by testing circuits
Document networks by labeling and routing equipment and cables
Maintain network by troubleshooting and reporting outages
Maintain customer rapport by listening proactively to clients concerns and resolving concerns their issues
Maintain a safe work environment by following the relevant codes of practice, standards and regulatory requirements
Keep supplies ready by inventorying stock, placing orders and verifying receipts
Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading technical publications
Enhance departmental and organizational reputation by accepting ownership of and accomplishing new and different requests and explore new opportunities to add value to job accomplishments
Formal qualifications required
A Cabler and/or Telecommunications technician must either hold relevant qualification equivalent to a Certificate III in Telecommunications or must have relevant experience.
In addition, a technician must hold:
Cabler Registration Certificate issued by the ACMA Cabling Rules.
Enable registration with Fibre modules Endorsement
Power Awareness
Traffic Management
Working at heights
Confined space & gas detection
Extensive understanding of networks.
Australian (C Class) Drivers Licence
Police check (within 6 months): Must be clear with no convictions
Position requires willingness to get Flu and Covid Vaccinations as we may work in the Aged Care sector.
Also Willingness to work in Sydney as well as in regional NSW for extended periods of time as per project requirements.
Salary Offered will be in the range of $65,000 to $75,000 depending on your level of experience.
