SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Director of Government Relations and Community Affairs, the Assistant Director assists with day-to-day management and coordination of activities and relationships with local, state, and federal legislative and agency officials, University staff, and other community stakeholders with a focus on local community engagement.

Provide support and direction to the varied University efforts involving community engagement, including, but not limited to the Center for Community Engagement and yet to be established units of the University that focus on forging University-Community partnerships and projects.
Serve as a thought leader with respect to program staff around methodologies and best practices in authentic and effective community engagement.
In conjunction with the Director of Government Relations, develop and maintain strong, authentic relationships with municipal, county, and state level community-based organizations as well as local and county elected officials and establish relationship strategic plan, goals, and expectations.
Understand and effectively communicate the University’s mission, vision, core values and strategic direction to external groups, including key stakeholders and intermediaries.
Work with community action groups to design and deliver projects that help to improve local health and wellbeing.
Build relationships, as well as connect people with skills, tools and networks.
Manage high-priority projects designed to achieve the University's mission and strategic vision; build and maintain successful working relationships and coordinate with a wide range of offices, staff, and stakeholders, internal and external to the University.
Gather, investigate, research, analyze, and/or study information affecting University-wide, intradepartmental, or interdepartmental operations; participate in institutional planning, policy development, and problem resolution as a member of senior staff.
Anticipate, identify and troubleshoot issues of concern or significance; exercise discretion to provide timely information and necessary updates across multiple stakeholders.
Research, write, edit and/or coordinate preparation of special reports, briefings and presentations; conceive, craft, and edit messages, letters and other communications on behalf of executive leadership and the Director of Government Relations and Community Affairs.
Coordinate and/or oversee the scheduling of strategic events, meetings and other requests to balance and address key institutional objectives.
Support and sustain a culture of service, professionalism and continuous improvement in the Office of the President.

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
Minimum of three years of professional experience in government relations.

SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Assistant Director, Building Services, the Assistant Housekeeping Supervisor 1 organizes and supervises a staff of Building Maintenance Workers in the completion of the Housekeeping Program and provides first-rate service.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Conducts inspections of buildings, offices and other areas to note significant conditions and sees that needed work is done.
Provides assignments to Building Maintenance Workers and/or other Housekeeping employees and supervises the performance of their work. Prepares the employee performance evaluations.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Feliciano School of Business at Montclair State University invites applications for a one-year, 12-month, renewable, post-doctoral position in Supply Chain Management in the Department of Information Management and Business Analytics, starting September 1, 2024. Candidates holding PhD are invited to apply.
Candidates for this position must have teaching experience in the areas of operations management, supply chain management or a closely related field. In addition, we seek candidates with the ability to work in a collaborative, diverse organization committed to supporting a vibrant, inclusive work and education environment.
The candidate selected will play a dual role of educator and course developer collaborating with the faculty mentors. As a post-doctoral fellow specializing in Supply Chain Management, the role encompasses key responsibilities that play a crucial role in shaping both the academic landscape of the department.
Teaching: Deliver engaging and informative lectures for four undergraduate or graduate-level course in Supply Chain Management each semester. Develop materials to help on-board new faculty teaching these courses.

The Department of Information Management and Business Analytics (IMBA) offers a new BS in Business Analytics, BS in Business Administration with a concentration in Management of Information Systems (MIS), a minor in Business Analytics, two graduate certificate programs in Business Analytics and Project Management, and a Master of Science in Business Analytics (MSBA). The department also supports the MBA Program, teaching both required and elective MIS and BA graduate courses.

SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Assistant Head Grounds Worker, the Grounds Worker performs tasks that result in horticultural sound practices leading to first-rate care of the University's landscape.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Monitors campus grounds to determine needs for services such as but not limited to: fertilizing, insect and disease control, weeding, dead plant removal, watering, pruning, etc.
Polices campus grounds and picks up litter and debris on an as needed basis.
Maintains lawns and softscapes to maintain a neat and horticultural appealing appearance. This includes the following services: mowing, trimming, edging and other activities.
Waters new plant material and floral displays to help with establishment and survival.

Reports to supervisor the need for any services or any unsafe action and/or condition.
Places a premium upon safety rules and regulations pertaining to operation of tools, machinery, etc.
Maintains and prepares athletic fields and adjacent areas for practices and events, including but not limited to: dragging, vacuuming, lining, clean-up, etc.
Edges, cultivates, and mulches tree rings and shrub beds.
Removes leaves from lawns, walks, roads, parking lots, etc. on an as needed basis to maintain a clean and safe environment.
Inspects, cleans and preventive maintenance of equipment and tools used in the performance of tasks.
Prepares areas to be landscaped and installs landscape material as required (examples include soil, seed, sod, mulch, shrubs, trees, pavers, decorative stone, etc.).
Builds skill base by attending landscape training sessions as assigned.

The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders is seeking an individual with an earned research doctoral degree in Speech-Language Pathology or a related area for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor. The master’s program is accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation of ASHA. Expertise in aphasia, dysphagia, phonological disorders or augmentative and alternative communication is desirable, but other areas of expertise will be considered. Reporting to the Director of Systems and Infrastructure, the Technical Operations Manager Creative Arts & Technology (CAT) provides primary support for the CAT Division’s technology infrastructure and related applications in labs, classrooms, and other areas on the Bloomfield campus. Job Description
SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Director of Performance Operations, the Facilities and Events Manager provides management for the daily operation and upkeep of multiple performance facilities and related areas. The Manager also ensures the seamless, professional execution of Dance, Music, Theater, Opera, Talks, Presentations, and other live production events for presented artists, academic programs, campus partners, community entities, and rental clients within the Montclair State University College of the Arts (CART).
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Facilities Management
Serve as liaison with Campus Physical Plant, Police, A&E Services, Parking Services, Catering Services, Custodial Services, and other units in the operation, maintenance, and upgrades of the Life Hall facilities. Prepare and implement facilities’ production systems and equipment repairs and service.
Process booking applications, reservation forms, and rental contracts for use of the CPO performance facilities by all users. Generate estimates and submit contracts to the CPO Business Manager.
Coordinate scheduling of spaces with Campus users, Academic Departments, and outside renters.
Supervise part time personnel and staff assigned to performance facilities.
Implement event service procedures and facility use policies & procedures.
In collaboration with CPO staff, make recommendations and specifications of equipment needs &and upgrades. Serve as Project Manager for installation and upgrade of specialized technical equipment and systems in the facilities.
Work with designated University and State of New Jersey officials to assure that the performance facilities meet all safety regulations (OSHA, State, local, etc.) and that all facilities are used and maintained in a safe manner by each unit using a facility.
Schedule, operate, and upkeep of CPO cargo van and any related service vehicles.
Coordinate work on facilities systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, construction, painting, etc.) by outside vendors/contractors.
Purchase, stock and distribute regularly used operating supplies (i.e.: gaffers tape, tie line, stage lamps, paint, spike tape, electrical tape, batteries, etc.) for use in “Event Services”.
Production:
Serve as the Production Coordinator (onsite liaison, managing crew and client relations) for non-CART events, and/or rental events using the CPO performance facilities.
Assist with Commencement, Convocation, and other University events as assigned.
Review production schedules with the end users and coordinate production staffing with CPO Production Manager for each event booked in the performance facilities.
Oversee the integration of each production's physical elements into the facility through coordination with the Production Manager and other personnel related to each event.
Manage employee timekeeping & payroll related to the labor required for Campus events, student events, and rental events.
Coordinate the safe use of specialized facilities’ systems (rigging, acoustic treatment systems, stage lighting, mechanical, audio) with production personnel.
Administration:
Manage CPO credit card and submit paperwork and reconciliations for purchases.
Maintain facilities records for each Life Hall performance space including inventories, specifications, maintenance records, use records, safety/operational procedures, etc.
Prepare and maintain facilities related reports, logs, and statistics. Prepare and submit production labor invoicing for each event to the CPO Business Manager.
Represent the College/University to multiple public professional Organizations and promote facilities rentals and revenue generation through public interactions in the “Arts Community” and by communications & interaction with potential rental clients.
Actively pursue new rental clients that meet the University mission and increase the visibility and sustainability of the CPO unit.
Work with colleagues in the Performance Operations Department to manage, augment, and diversify the freelance labor pool.

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.

Solid understanding of proper safety protocols for productions and events following OSHA, state and local fire codes, and general standard building codes.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The School of Communication and the Department of Political Science and Law at Montclair State University invites applications for an assistant/associate tenure-track professor in political communication. This interdisciplinary faculty member will be housed both in the School of Communication and Media and the Department of Political Science and Law, helping to grow collaborative new study and curriculum in political communication while leveraging the considerable strengths of both academic units. The Department of Political Science and Law will serve as the primary unit. This position is one of several strategic interdisciplinary hires. We are particularly interested in candidates that can work across these disciplines and understand the intersections between politics and the various forms and tools of communication. Candidates should be excited to prepare future leaders to understand and operate in a political landscape driven by complex communication strategy and tactics, where informed citizens must grasp foundational political theory and processes as well as the tools and techniques professionals use to effectively and ethically communicate with a broad range of publics across myriad digital platforms.
Candidates will have the opportunity to teach courses currently listed in both academic units. Political Science courses may include The Internet, Politics, and Public Policy and Polling in the US. School of Communication and Media courses (from both the Strategic Communication and Communication and Media Studies areas) may include Global Strategic Communication, Crisis Communication, and Democracy and Communication. Of equal importance and based on their expertise, strong candidates will be expected to collaboratively create and teach new interdisciplinary courses open to students from both units, toward the creation of an interdisciplinary certificate in political communication. New course topics could include political data analytics, political social media, strategic political communication, media and politics, and campaigns and advertising – among many others. Candidates will have the opportunity to leverage several signature programs within both units and the University, including the Center for Cooperative Media and the Center for Strategic Communication as well as a range of current media and industry partnerships. This faculty member can foster relationships with key constituents in local and state government centers and also support the creation of an emerging residential program in Washington, D.C. Tenure track faculty are expected to maintain a portfolio of creative or scholarly work appropriate for a tenure appointment at an R2 institution. Given the interdisciplinary and unique nature of this position, the creative/scholarly agenda may embody a broad range of focus topics and productivity depending on the candidate’s expertise and experience. This may include scholarly journal publications; books or monographs in political communication that could appeal to either a scholarly or popular press; and potential stature as a public scholar, including work in a Montclair academic center, the creation of white papers, consultancy with political think tanks, and the pursuit of external grants and funding. Faculty are also expected to conduct office hours; participate in department, School, College meetings across units as appropriate for an interdisciplinary hire; provide University service; and participate in the overall curricular and co-curricular life of the University.
QUALIFICATIONS:
A Ph.D. in political science, communication, media, or other appropriately aligned discipline is highly recommended. Those with a master’s degree and significant professional work history may also apply. A history of and/or clear promise for maintaining a strong record of creative/scholarly work appropriate to an R2 institution. Teaching experience and potential for being an engaged and committed classroom instructor who will work with a diverse student population is critical. Candidates should demonstrate a strong interest working across academic units and building new interdisciplinary curricula in political communication.

SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Director of Grants Accounting, the Grants Accountant is responsible for maintaining continuous compliance with federal, state and industry requirements for accurate and timely reporting on expenditures of funds for a portfolio of assigned grants. This position is responsible for all post-award financial accounting & reporting for their assigned projects. This includes accounting, billing, receipting, reporting, and ensuring compliance with Federal and State regulations, sponsor/grantor requirements and Foundation activities.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
AUDIT AND COMPLIANCE:
Responsible for the prescribed implementation of procedures for internal controls: procedures and practices within the Grants and Restricted Accounting Department consistent with current GASB, FASB, and OMB Uniform Guidance Standards.
Understands and utilizes: Indirect Cost and Fringe Rates, long and short applications.
Performs processes to generate time and effort certifications consistent with OMB Uniform Guidance for faculty and others devoting effort to sponsored awards.
Monitors restricted and sponsored award accounts for reasonableness, allowability, allocability and consistent treatment of costs and initiates corrections as needed.
Determines the difference between exchange and non-exchange transactions as well as appropriate revenue recognition.
FINANCIAL SYSTEMS:
Financial Management System
Assists in the monitoring of grant related transactions recorded in the general ledger, making appropriate adjustments when needed.
Assists in managing the supporting tables within the finance system for grant accounting and initiates updates as needed.
Assists in system testing and coordination of testing with department workflow.
Employs reporting tools to generate financial reports.
Generates various output reports for grant analysis.
Initiates vendor billings and receivables.
Participates in the review of process workflows, system testing, and training.
Provides feedback and recommendations for system design improvement.
Reviews and validates data for accuracy and completeness.
Workday Payroll System
Utilizes reporting tools for validation of salary information, labor distribution/redistribution and effort reporting requirements.

COLLABORATION/TRANING:
Frequently communicates with assigned Principal Investigators (PIs) to ensure timely and accurate grant reports.
Works collaboratively with other University Departments and other external agencies in support of grant management.
Supports and assists in quarterly training sessions in grant processes and procedures for Principal Investigators and the Office of Sponsored Research Projects.
Possesses competent communication skill set that allows successful communication (written and verbal) with various constituents.
Works collaboratively with team members in the use of the Financial Management System.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university.
Minimum of three years of experience in general account analysis and reconciliations as well as experience in preparing and analyzing a periodic budget/forecast to actual variance report.

Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines while maintaining focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
Team player with strong communication and writing skills.
PREFERRED:

Minimum of four years in grant/restricted accounting and reporting, preferably in a college or university setting.
Experience with PeopleSoft/Workday Grants, Contracts, Billing and Project Costing is a plus.
