Chemical Market Analytics (CMA), by OPIS, a Dow Jones Company is seeking a Senior Research Analyst to work as a part of a team covering market research and analysis of the Asian Aromatics market. Key activities will be maintaining, updating, and expanding the CMA database and models.

You will:

• Oversight of content, forecast methodology and quality.
• Provide ongoing analysis to the Aromatics services, generating and analysing trends, cost, and demand dependencies for products involved.
• Take ownership of the charts and tables that are published routinely and update them as required.
• Provide editorial overview on text submitted by global product experts for various reports.
• Create presentation materials in Microsoft Power Point for meetings and conferences.
• Respond to client questions and serve as a resource for client brainstorming/discussions.
• Supply/Demand – maintain production capacity database, and supply-demand balance forms through entire product chains including annual L-forms, short forms and quarterly balances as needed.
• Regional coordination with critical internal functions and other business lines.
• Working with the product service leads, engage functions, including Sales & Marketing, to facilitate business growth.
• Engage with other business lines to leverage the Chemical Market Analytics total solution.
• Work with the global team to ensure global product area consistency and continuity.

You have:

• General chemical industry knowledge is essential, and previous experience of working in the Aromatics sector will be preferred.
• 3+ years industry experience, preferably in the chemical industry.
• An engineering degree is essential. MBA a strong plus.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to work under pressure to achieve set deadlines and with a high attention to detail.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in both English and Mandarin Chinese.
• Confident to speak/present to global clients or any internal/external events. Confident to face challenges and requests from clients.
• Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
• Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office Professional Suite. Candidate must have Advance level expertise in Microsoft Excel

The Wall Street Journal is looking for a Senior Video Producer to join the APAC video team in Singapore to produce clear, compelling and timely features, explainer videos and news coverage. You will pitch story ideas and deliver topical, news-driven, in-depth videos that have a focus on WSJ’s core coverage areas, with a focus on global stories out of the Asia-Pacific region. The ideal candidate will have experience covering China across a broad range of topics from its economy and markets to politics and technology.

This role requires exceptional story development, shooting and editing skills plus a proven track record of using footage and motion graphics to create visually-rich videos that bring clarity to complicated topics. We are looking for a journalist who will combine solid news judgment and creative execution to produce quality video journalism on deadline. You will be tapped to juggle different tasks and projects as news events require. Please note that this is not an entry-level position and it isn’t a position producing documentaries.

You will:

• Pitch, research, report and script timely features, explainer videos and news coverage.
• Manage every aspect of video production from ideation to post-production and ensure timely delivery under tight deadlines.
• Have an eye for visuals and find creative ways to tell stories, using high-quality video, graphics and props.
• Develop story ideas from the APAC region with a keen eye on China but also maintain a pulse on U.S. news developments in order to pitch stories with broader resonance.
• Partner with colleagues across the newsroom to identify opportunities to produce visually distinctive videos across platforms.
• Shoot videos in the studio, remotely and in the field, produce motion graphics, edit and publish.
• Manage multiple projects in different stages of production.

You have:

• At least five years of experience producing videos in a daily news environment, preferably at a global news organization.
• A deep understanding of and an interest in the Wall Street Journal's core topic areas, as well as strong editorial judgment and knowledge of news from China and the broader APAC region.
• The ability to work well across a newsroom and communicate with exceptional written and collaboration skills.
• A professional-level understanding of Adobe Suite, with a high level of expertise in Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop and Illustrator.
• Experience with multiple camera setups, including but not limited to the Sony FS5, FS7 and A7S. Ability to set up lights in the studio and in the field.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.

You will work within an international team to assess prices and market developments for iron ore trade in Asia as part of McCloskey's endeavour to price raw materials that are driving the green energy revolution. The deliverables will include research and writing briefs on key market developments both within China and globally.

Main Responsibilities

• Conduct primary research and analysis for the Global and Chinese iron ore market
• Provide regular and objective written inputs for monthly and annual analysis.
• Provide weekly market pricing inputs into the global database
• Research and report on new developments in iron ore and steel markets
• Coordinate with steel, scrap analysts for cross-sectoral analysis and standing in as back-up for steel/scrap analysts in Asia.
• Representing McCloskey by OPIS in metals conferences/forum

Main Qualifications and skills:

• 2-4 years reporting/research experience in metals, mining, or steel raw materials. Iron ore experience a bonus.
• Undergraduate degree in Journalism, English, Finance or Business.
• Can cooperatively work across an organization at multi-levels to utilize the resources and knowledge base available efficiently and effectively in a team approach.
• Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of spoken Mandarin is essential.
