Role purpose

Our Business Intelligence teams work as trusted advisors to leading Fortune 500 companies, financial institutions, private market investors and law firms across the region. We help our clients understand and manage a variety of business risks, enabling them to succeed in complex environments. Your work as a member of the team will include conducting strategic intelligence projects, evaluating potential local partners and investments, mapping out sources of reputational and integrity risk and conducting investigations to help our clients respond to internal and external threats to their operations, including helping to resolve disputes.

This role is responsible for;

• Leading research and intelligence-led projects focused on strategic intelligence to inform decision-making, as well as determining integrity, anti-corruption, fraud related or other issues for our clients.

Role tasks and responsibilities

Marketing and business development

• Define and implement competitive business strategies and well-crafted business plans designed to expand the company’s standing with its clients
• Consistently develop the company’s positioning with its clients to enhance business development in close co-ordination with the other practice areas, and secure higher fee-earning engagements
• Identify opportunities to differentiate Control Risks services by applying crisis management, fraud and forensics, and political and country risk methodologies from other practice areas
• Increase business generated from clients across the South-East Asia region by a percentage agreed in annual targets
• Support development of technical and operational innovations
• Support to ensure the Business Intelligence & Compliance revenue targets are met or exceeded
• Represent Control Risks at events and other business development functions and assist in developing Control Risks’ profile within the region.
• Work closely with other regional BI teams on business development initiatives
• Foster thriving client relationships, including exploiting cross-selling opportunities to relevant parts of the business
• Take our clients to higher and broader levels of service; expand the relationship by service and geography
  

Project work

• Produce high quality work ensuring that errors and inconsistencies are identified and addressed and that findings from different teams are seamlessly integrated into a final report.
• Multi-task – oversee multiple assignments, create project teams, set plans, deliverables and project budgets
• Manage output from direct reports: supervise projects, ensure rigorous quality control and oversee delivery of service
• Ensure projects are priced, structured and managed effectively to deliver on profit and within margin targets
• Contribute to good cash flow by invoicing in a timely fashion and participating in the collection process

• Lead, develop and coach a high-performing practice team
  Invest in the ongoing enhancement and development of the team, colleagues, service line and client relationships

• Manage performance and offer specialist training in order to develop practice team

Role requirements

• Specific experience of effectively selling Business Intelligence & Compliance consulting services to clients
• Understanding of the complexities of carrying out business intelligence in the South-East Asia markets.

Role purpose

We are looking for an SDM to take responsibility for overseeing the successful delivery of services for a large regional APAC client. This role involves managing a team, coordinating resources, collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure seamless service delivery and to ensure all service level KPIs are met or exceeded.

Role tasks and responsibilities

1. Client Relationship Management:

• Build and nurture strong relationships with clients.
• Conduct regular meetings to understand client needs and expectations.
• Act as the primary point of contact for addressing client concerns and inquiries.

2. Service Delivery Oversight:

• Develop, implement, and optimize service delivery processes and procedures.

The Junior Security Intelligence Analyst will help collect, curate, and disseminate current and forecasted risk intelligence in a timely manner to partners and stakeholders. Analysts provide strategic foresight and analysis on security and operational concerns that may pose a safety risk to the client, its employees, or community.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor and analyse geopolitical and global events identify and assess threats the client's specific global operations, assets, and personnel.
• Provide major event safety and security assessment, forecast, and vulnerability reports.

The Senior Security Intelligence Analyst will be a key member of the Global Security Intelligence team as they collect, curate, and disseminate current and forecasted risk intelligence in a timely manner to partners and stakeholders. This position will also work to edit and compile written analysis by the Junior Analysts.

Role Purpose

The successful candidate will assist in delivering and developing Control Risks’ analysis of political, security and operational risks across Southeast Asia. They will also help drive Control Risks’ thematic and comparative analysis on the region as a whole on dominant trends such as the green transition, critical mineral supply chains, and digitalisation of sectors/economies.

The role will involve providing expert advice to leading companies and organizations with operations or investments in Southeast Asia. It will require close collaboration with Control Risks’ team of analysts, consultants and business developers. The role also requires daily delivery of Control Risks’ analytical subscription products for Southeast Asian countries.

The successful candidate will have a strong, specialist academic and/or professional background on Southeast Asia, with demonstrable specialist expertise in at least one core market, and an outstanding aptitude for thinking and writing analytically to a very high standard in a timely manner. They will have the ability to convey careful analytical judgment and complex information in a confident, persuasive and accessible manner to clients. They will also be comfortable in doing some business development alongside senior analysts and consultants.

Delivering high quality risk analysis

• Be able, or quickly become able, to demonstrate understanding of major political, operational and security risk issues and thematic trends related to Southeast Asian markets
• Writing high-quality analytical pieces of variable length and on a wide range of issues, for a business audience, and on a daily basis
• Writing and maintaining web content related to Southeast Asian markets
• Responding to client requests for analytical support around political, operational or security risk issues
• Support senior risk analysts in delivery of complex, client-facing risk consultancy projects in Southeast Asian markets
• Delivering or overseeing consultancy proposals and responses to client requests in a timely manner and to a high standard to maximise chance of success through assistance to proposal-writers

Requirements

Essential

• Three to five years’ relevant work experience in consulting, journalism and/or emerging market analysis
• Strong political, regulatory, sector, operational and security risk knowledge of at least one Southeast Asian country, preferably Malaysia and/or Thailand

Preferred

• Ability to cover emerging, business-relevant thematic developments in Southeast Asia at a regional level
• Southeast Asian (Bahasa Melayu, Thai) language skills
