The Assistant Director for Outdoor Leadership and Student Activities is responsible for the vision, direction, risk management and full oversight of the Brown Outdoor Leadership Training (BOLT) program, a signature, legacy experiential leadership initiative for sophomores. The Assistant Director designs, develops, implements, and assesses leadership training curriculum for leaders of student organizations focusing on core competencies such as ethical decision making, equity and inclusivity, risk management, and event management. The Assistant Director advises, supports, and advocates for student organizations and contributes to University efforts to create an environment that supports and encourages student initiative and leadership development consistent with Brown’s mission and the principles of Liberal Learning at Brown and provides educational and developmental advising for approximately 50 student organizations.
Job Qualifications
Education and Experience
Bachelor's Degree and 3 to 5 years of experience, or the equivalent combination of education and experience required.
Ability to manage wilderness-based programs required.
Event planning or program development experience required.
Some personal or professional wilderness (backpacking) experience required.
Leave No Trace (LNT), Wilderness First Aid, Wilderness First Responder, and CPR training preferred.

SUMMARY:
The Deans Communications Specialist is a creative, exceptional writer who will craft clear and compelling communications for the for senior leadership of the Division of Biology and Medicine, including but not limited to the Dean of Medicine and Biological Sciences, Senior Associate Deans, and the Chief Wellness Officer. The incumbent will work closely with the Division’s senior leaders to create content that reflects the voice, messages, and communications strategy of each dean and supports the overall goals of providing clear, transparent communications for all audiences. Job Description:
The Mind & Morality Lab, directed by Dr. Julia Marshall, investigates children’s social cognition. The lab is especially interested in understanding how children learn to cooperate with one another. We work with children from around age 5 up until 12 in laboratory, public, and school settings in addition to working with adults through online data collection platforms.
The Research Assistant’s responsibilities will be multi-fold. First, the Research Assistant (RA) will be responsible for coordinating and conducting research with children. This will involve managing a database of families and recruiting families to participate in laboratory studies. Second, the position will also involve reaching out to schools, coordinating school visits, and maintaining relationships with these schools. Third, the RA will help with lab-related tasks, such as administrative duties, performing statistical analyses, developing lab presentations, and recruiting and managing undergraduate research assistants.
This position will allow for independent research on the lab’s research topics under the supervision of Dr. Marshall.
This is a 100% grant funded and fixed-term position for one year with the possibility of renewal depending on the funding source.

The Human Resources and Faculty Administration team of the School of Engineering at Brown University has a new and exciting opportunity to hire a Human Resources Specialist.
The Human Resources (HR) Specialist serves as the central HR liaison for the 10 academic and research groups, the 11 central administrative groups in the School of Engineering (SoE) and five plus Centers. Reporting to the Assistant Director, Human Resources and Faculty Administration in the SoE and collaborating closely with colleagues in University Human Resources.
The HR Specialist has a comprehensive understanding of all Human Resources-related processes and serves as an advisor to the Assistant Director of Human Resources and Faculty Administration and collaborates with the School of Engineering administration on various HR functions including recruitment, hiring, onboarding, policy and procedure administration, equity reviews, job audits and salary recommendations. The Financial and Administrative Coordinator will primarily function to handle both the financial transactions and provide administrative support to the Ruth J. Simmons Center for the Study of Slavery & Justice (Simmons Center). Responsibilities:
The Director of Special Projects leads and executes strategic initiatives as well as short and long-term projects of varying size, scope and scale to advance academic priorities and operational excellence of Brown University. Job Description:
The Director of Development for the Brown University Sports Foundation (Annual Fund & Operations) is responsible for the planning, implementation, and management of a comprehensive annual fund program as well as overseeing the entirety of the operations, including programming, marketing and communications, on behalf of the BUSF to assure the program’s continuing role as an Ivy League leader in Athletics fundraising.
The Director of Development will oversee the $5M+ BUSF annual fund program including planning, pipeline development, marketing, messaging, hyper-giving days, and the overall strategy and execution for the program. This BUSF annual fund program is critical to the success of the overall $50M+ Brown Annual Fund on an annual basis and the Director provides crucial leadership and support, both directly and through the management of BUSF annual fund staff, to the Division of Advancement as a partner, collaborator and key stakeholder in the overall annual process to support the necessary outcome for the Division.
The Director will also be individually responsible for raising $1 million or more annually as plan manager and/or primary solicitor. Through direct management, the Director will provide strategic oversight for at least three subordinates with the following responsibilities: 1. marketing, communications, and fundraising for Brown’s $5M+ annual use fundraising program; 2. operations specific to budget, data compilation, reporting & stewardship; 3. leadership support of all annual fundraising for all athletics priorities; 4. All BUSF engagement programs and events including related strategy, planning, budget and execution. The Director will be responsible for connecting these direct reports to Brown’s overall fundraising missions and values and with that charge, will lead and mentor these BUSF staff members to help foster deep collaborations across the Division of Advancement while ensuring a close working relationship between programs and fundraising teams. Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree required.

Job Description:
The Director, Doctoring Program will serve as a senior leader within the Office of Medical Education (OME) at the Warren Alpert Medical School (AMS) of Brown University and oversee the administration and execution of the Doctoring Program. This includes the development, implementation, and continuous quality improvement efforts of the foundational clinical skills curriculum including all Doctoring courses and the Clinical Skills Clerkship (CSC). Reporting to the Assistant Vice President for Employee and Labor Relations (AVP), the Director of Labor Relations (Director) provides proactive advice, guidance, and recommendations for appropriate courses of action that arise out of various employment situations involving employees who are members of a collective bargaining unit and other labor-management matters to ensure that departmental priorities are accomplished.
The Director will be critical to developing, growing, and sustaining strong partnerships between UHR and the Administrative and Academic departments and bargaining units throughout the University. The Director will collaborate and influence a diverse group of departments and division leaders, fully understand their strategies, goals, and expectations, and provide thoughtful leadership and guidance on various labor relations matters to increase organizational effectiveness. The Director will also ensure alignment within UHR in managing services and processes that involve unionized employees or their managers and in delivering services and information to the University community. Likewise, they will advance the broader understanding of the relationship between effective HR management and University business functions. The Director will provide managerial oversight for the following roles within Labor Relations:
