Role:
The Compliance Officer is responsible for assisting in ensuring that the operations of BMT comply with relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies. He/she will report to the Head of Compliance and work closely with other stakeholders to implement and monitor compliance programs within BMT.
Responsibilities:
· Assist in conducting regular reviews and audits to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and internal policies.
· Stay updated on changes in relevant laws, regulations, and industry best practices to ensure the company's compliance procedures are current and effective.
· Assist in maintaining records of compliance activities, including policies, procedures, reports, and correspondence.
· Assist in identifying compliance risks within the organization and recommend appropriate measures to mitigate those risks.
· Perform due diligence, including AML, KYC, negative news and sanction screening through World-Check and other online platforms on new and existing relationships.
· Provide support to Head of Compliance in implementing compliance initiatives, responding to inquiries from regulatory agencies, and managing compliance-related projects.
· Work closely with other departments, such as operations and frontline, to ensure a cohesive approach to compliance across the organization.
Skills and qualifications:
· A Diploma or equivalent qualification in law, finance, or a related field.
· Minimum 3 years of relevant compliance experience
· Good knowledge of MAS regulations, guidelines, and best practices related to trust business.
· Proficient in MS tools like Word, Excel, PowerPoint
· Strong team player and possess a positive attitude.
· Conscientious, with good attention to detail
· Good written and verbal communication skills
· Proven ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
· Independent and positive working attitude
