Position Summary: 

Regional Manager, Pharmacy Operations, plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth functioning of clinic pharmacies under AON’s policy and procedure framework, alongside national practice standards. Responsibilities encompass various facets, including regulatory compliance, quality assurance, operational efficiency, and pharmacy information systems management.  Closely monitor adherence to policies and procedures, utilizing remote reporting metrics and on-site assessments to uphold regulatory standards, particularly in sterile compounding. Additionally, staying abreast of regulatory changes impacting pharmacy operations across states will be crucial.

Will serve as a key liaison during mergers and acquisitions, proactively addressing process deficiencies through strategic action plans. Coordinate pharmacy transition activities and overseeing inventory management to support the company's financial objectives will be paramount. In collaboration with other leaders, will also be actively involved in various initiatives supporting and leading projects from initiation to completion.

KPA 1 – Daily Pharmacy Operations Oversight & Support

KPA 5 – Financial Responsibility in Inventory Management and Practice Safety

• Manages weekly/monthly automation reports, including medication activities/dispenses, clinic charges, and waste reports in order to ensure pharmacy operations compliance.
• Responsible for ensuring maximized utilization of spoilage replacement/reimbursement programs.
• Work alongside cross- functional groups (i.e., Procurement, IT, Billing, Rev. Cycle, Human Resources, etc.) in address process deficiencies.
• Will perform regular audits of drug dispense data (Jcodes, NDCs, in conjunction with the revenue cycle leaders to ensure quality and accuracy of dispense data, outbound claims, and EMR ecosystems.
• Identify safety and cost saving issues on pharmacy operations to implement appropriate corrective action plans. Collect information on the areas of pharmacy operations against expectations and project baselines.

Position Qualifications/Requirements

Education: College degree (AS, AA or Higher) in Business/Health Care Administration, preferred. In lieu of degree, 4+ years of experience is required or the equivalent combination of education and experience.

Previous Experience:

• Minimum of 3 years Pharmacy Operations/Compliance Management required.

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a pharmacy/clinical setting where sterile and hazardous drugs are handled.

• Experience working within a community oncology practice, multiple-site management/support, or multi-state experience a plus.

Job Summary

The PET/CT Technologist II (PET Tech) reports directly to the Radiology Team Lead.  The PET Tech accurately interprets physician orders; administers radiopharmaceuticals (RPH) and/or contrast materials; and prepares and operates PET/CT Scan equipment to ensure proper images are obtained.  Their primary duties include the acquisition of quality diagnostic PET/CT images in accordance with written prescriptions and standard operating procedures while ensuring safety in patient care through the consistent practice of ALARA principles and accepted standards of care. Image acquisition includes identifying the correct patient, escorting patients to the scan room, assisting patients onto the scanner table, positioning patients for image acquisition, acquiring diagnostically acceptable images and assisting the patients in exiting the scan room.  The PET Tech provides and ensures an environment of caring, concern and support for patients, visitors, medical staff and co-workers on a consistent basis.  They ensure the quality of image acquisition through the complete and accurate documentation of treatment records. They also recognize and document required deviations from prescribed scans and report all deviations to the Radiology Team Lead and/or interpreting Radiologist.  The PET Tech uses effective communication techniques and interpersonal skills to adequately explain the PET/CT scan procedure and its associated risks to patients and their family while referring medical questions to appropriate personnel. The PET Tech observes patients for expected and unexpected reactions to radiopharmaceutical and/or contrast injections and communicates this to appropriate staff members. The PET Tech properly documents all aspects of the image acquisition process within the patient’s record in the Practice EMR. The PET Tech assists as needed in all image acquisition related procedures, including transporting patients, reviewing charts, and ordering supplies.  They demonstrate the ability to recognize standard imaging artifacts and make the necessary to adjustments to ensure high quality scans.  The PET Tech performs and documents daily and weekly QA checklists for all PET/CT related equipment within the department including the Hotlab. They notify appropriate clinical team members and document findings outside the normal range of operations. The PET Tech participates in programs to measure and improve the quality of care within the Department and uses critical thinking to trouble shoot and often fix common quality issues.  They also capture and verify patient procedures performed and assist with in the submission of Superbill charges.

Required Qualifications

• Show physician critical blood counts according to guidelines.

Position Summary: 

Responsible for scheduling orders for delivery or pick-up and documenting various updates related to therapy adherence. Will perform routine and non-routine pharmacy technician functions and activities related to the position. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: making/answering outbound/inbound calls to/from patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals, updating patient records, and providing medications to patients in a timely manner to encourage adherence to therapy.

The Pharmacy Adherence Technician will evaluate and maintain accurate medication information regarding therapy adherence, medication lists, and prescription barriers under the clinical supervision of licensed pharmacists. Must be able to exercise excellent communication skills to successfully interact with all levels of internal and external parties and to convey information appropriately.  Must be able to effectively use, pronounce, and spell common medical and pharmacy terms. No patient counseling will be completed by the Pharmacy Adherence Technician.

KPA 1 – Therapy Adherence

To ensure patients are adhering to therapy as indicated by the treating physician through effective communication about prescription refills and barriers in a timely manner.

Examples of job duties:

• Navigates ONCO EMR to determine if the patient has had any notable changes in personal and therapy status to determine appropriateness of refilling a medication.

• Gathers information regarding prescription barriers to help the patient maintain therapy. Refers clinical questions and concerns to clinical pharmacists.

• Will work with pharmacists to document discharge summaries and medication on hold forms in order to report discontinuation and delays with therapy.

• Actively participates in the process of continuous improvement within the pharmacy.

• Attends team meetings and training sessions as required.

KPA 2 – Data Entry and Documentation

To ensure the accurate and timely documentation of patient information into multiple software systems.

Examples of job duties:

• Navigates and documents accurately in CPR+, ORCA, ONCO EMR, and any additional pharmacy applications when needed.

• Medication Reconciliation: Under supervision of clinical pharmacists, responsible for obtaining and documenting accurate medication lists to help avoid duplication, omission, and error to all patients.

• Inform the clinical physician of any order status changes via patient EMR. This includes medication delivery dates, prior authorizations initiated, financial assistance initiated, reasons for holding or discontinuing an order, and any order clarifications as necessary.

KPA 3 – Pharmacy Support

To ensure that orders are processed in a timely manner by assisting the pharmacists and other departments with pharmacy related tasks.

Examples of job duties:

• Maintain an encouraging attitude to create a positive work environment.

• Will collect and process patient copayments.

• Communicates delivery updates related to shipping delays with patients, caregivers, and providers.

• Accurately processes and interprets pharmacy test claims. Triages order to other team members for assistance in resolving any discrepancies with test claims.

• Gathers pertinent information regarding lost medication requests, vacation override requests, and medication synchronization.

• Initiates prior authorizations, financial assistance, and insurance or facility verifications by gathering and providing relevant information to other pharmacy staff for investigation and resolution.

KPA 4 – Communications

To ensure that patients, caregivers, and providers can get timely responses and updates regarding orders.

Examples of job duties:

• Responsible for answering incoming calls to the pharmacy phone queue, and appropriately transferring calls to other departments or team members, as needed.

• Responsible for making outbound calls to patients, caregivers, and healthcare providers regarding order deliveries and updates.

• Will be required to meet a pre-determined quota for outbound calls made and inbound calls received per shift.

• Professionally and courteously communicates order information with patients, caregivers, and/or healthcare professionals.
