Ambulance Wish (Singapore) Ltd is an Institution of Public Character (IPC) approved by the Commissioner of Charities, that celebrates the lives of terminally ill patients in Singapore. Our work supports them and their loved ones through the simple but deeply meaningful act of wish-granting. By helping to fulfil these wishes, AWS strives to transform the end-of-life experience for patients with a limited prognosis of less than 12 months, giving them and their families a measure of joy, peace and comfort. The work of AWS is an extension of the provision of care for the dying that goes beyond the walls of hospitals and hospices, to impact homes and hearts. To date, with the support of 350 volunteers, we have fulfilled more than 185 wishes.
Ambulance Wish Singapore is seeking a compassionate, energetic, detail-oriented, critical-thinking team player to plan and implement wishes as well as to manage our pool of volunteers.
This position reports to the Executive Director (ED).
Responsibilities
1. Wish Granting
1. Manage an average caseload of 10 - 20 wishes simultaneously, with a goal of granting 100 wishes per year
2. Coordinate all aspects of wish experiences, from the start to completion and closeout. These include assigning wishes to volunteers, managing the day-to-day workflow, monitoring and ensuring progress toward wish completion
3. Work with assigned volunteer wish granters to:
i. delivery high quality, meaningful and memorable wishes for wish beneficiaries
ii. act as a liaison between families, volunteers, medical team, vendors, and donors
iii. manage wish costs through detailed budgeting, tracking, solicitation and stewardship of in-kind donations
iv. request medical clearance from wish referrers when needed; following up directly with medical teams to ensure wish is still deemed appropriate
4. Advocate for the mission to ensure each wish beneficiary is the center of their wish journey.
5. Create and maintain positive relationships with wish beneficiaries/ families, volunteers, donors and service providers
6. Conduct regular outreach to encourage referrals to our program
7. Collaborate with other departments to maximize wish experiences and ensure visibility of the mission
8. Maintain detailed administrative and financial records of wishes
9. Other duties as assigned
2. Volunteer and Partner Management
1.Regularly communicate with and recognise volunteers and in-kind donors
2. Recruit, train and manage the volunteers who support the work at AWS
3. Build a strong and dynamic volunteer base through organising volunteer engagements, programmes and appreciation events, with focus on recognition and retention
4. Oversee the record management for volunteer database
Communications and Others
1. Manage all areas of communications for wish granting and volunteer management. These include managing of AWS social media accounts and AWS eNewsletter etc
2. Provide secretariat support to AWS Programmes & Services Sub Committee
Qualifications
The Manager, Programmes & Services will be thoroughly committed to Ambulance Wish Singapore’s mission. All candidates should have proven leadership and project management experience.
Specific requirements include:
· A degree from a recognised university with at least 5 years of experience in business, communication, social service or relevant work experience
· A minimum of two years of non-profit or business experience working with volunteers or the community strongly desired
· Possess integrity, maturity, empathy and emotional intelligence; ability to handle sensitive information and maintain strict confidentiality
· Values social mission and have a strong desire to contribute to palliative care by transforming the end-of-life experience of terminally ill patients and their loved ones
· Excellent communication, project management, time management and organisational skills
· Strong written and verbal communication skills
· Outstanding attention to detail and deadlines
· Flair for cultivating and stewarding professional relationships with diverse groups of people
· Ability to work independently while thriving in a collaborative, team-oriented environment

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director (ED) will have overall strategic and operational responsibility for Ambulance Wish Singapore’s staff, volunteers, programmes, expansion, and execution of its mission.
Responsibilities
Leadership & Management:
Provide leadership to AWS in the design, delivery and quality of the organisation’s programme to meet the needs of terminally ill patients and their families, so as to provide the desired end of life experience.
Ensure ongoing programmatic and operational excellence, rigorous programme evaluation, and consistent quality of finance and administration, fundraising, communications, and systems; recommend timelines and resources needed to achieve the strategic goals.
Design the national expansion and complete the strategic business planning process for programme expansion.
Actively engage and energize Ambulance Wish Singapore volunteers, board members, partnering organizations, donors, sponsors and funders.
Work closely with the Board on the vision, mission and strategy for the organisation.
Develop, maintain, and support a strong Board of Directors; serve as ex-officio of each committee; seek and build board involvement with strategic direction.
Lead, coach and develop Ambulance Wish Singapore’s team.
Ensure effective systems to track scaling progress, and regularly evaluate program components, so as to measure successes that can be effectively communicated to the board, funders, and other constituents.
Supervise and direct strategic initiatives, corporate governance, resource management, organisation and capability development.
Finance and Operations
Work with the Finance Director/Manager to:
Recommend the yearly budget for Board approval and manage the organization’s resources within budget guidelines
Ensure robust financial and operational processes, in accordance with the regulatory framework and in consultation with the Governance Committee
Develops and reviews frameworks for the organisation’s operating guidelines and standards, directs the implementation of corporate policies in accordance with governance regulations and drives improvement in service delivery and operational efficiency.
Human Resource Management
Determine staffing requirements for organisational management and programme delivery
Ensure efficient organization and use of human resources to achieve organisational goals
Set clear targets for staff and put in place a clear performance evaluation and staff compensation system.
Ensure proper staff orientation and training
Supervise volunteer utilisation strategy and direct a robust and effective volunteer management processes
Establish a positive, healthy and safe work environment for all staff and volunteers
Fundraising, Partnerships & Communications:
Work with Fundraising Director/Manager to:
Direct fundraising strategy to expand revenue generating and fundraising activities
Deepen and refine all aspects of communications—from web presence to external relations with the goal of creating a stronger brand.
Direct events, programmes and publications to increase public awareness of AWS and our mission.
Use external presence and relationships to garner new opportunities.
Build partnership with healthcare, community care and palliative care organisations, establishing relationships with the funders, and community leaders.
Qualifications
The ED will be thoroughly committed to Ambulance Wish Singapore’s mission. All candidates should have proven leadership, corporate governance and strategy, and relationship management experience.
Specific requirements include:
A degree from a recognised university with at least 5 years of senior management experience; track record of driving growth, innovating and inspiring teams for success; ability to point to specific examples of having developed and operationalized strategies that have taken an organization to the next stage of growth.
Values philanthropy, social mission and have a strong desire to contribute to palliative care by transforming the end-of-life experience of terminally ill patients and their loved ones.
Excellence in organizational management with the ability to coach staff, manage, and develop high-performance teams (including volunteers), set and achieve strategic objectives, and manage a budget.
Marketing, public relations, and fundraising experience with the ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders and cultures
Strong written and verbal communication skills; a persuasive and passionate communicator with excellent interpersonal to manage team and volunteers and interact with the Board.

Roles & Responsibilities
You will be responsible for:
1. Advancing the philanthropic goals of AWS by prospecting, cultivation, and stewarding donors
2. Providing strategic counsel and partner with the Board on the cultivation journey with major donors
3. Researching and proactively cultivating prospects, developing major gift strategies and stewarding donors.
4. Recommending and implementing administrative protocols for donations and processing to ensure compliance
5. Developing and implementing a grateful caregiver programme
6. Building a culture of philanthropy among AWS volunteer and supporters to promote monthly giving
7. Planning and overseeing execution of events to raise funds
8. Maintaining appropriate records such as budgets, revenue tracking, key contacts and fund-raising proposal (both organised by AWS and third party).
9. Ensuring all fundraising projects are in compliance with the charity code of governance
10. Overseeing fundraising budgets, progress, deadlines, goals and objectives
11. Managing all areas of communications for Development work
12. Provide secretariat support to AWS Fundraising Sub Committee
13. Representing AWS at events and promotions as directed
14. Performing other duties as assigned
