- Provide guidance to supervised employees and staff elements including publication of Installation Financial Management directives and procedures.
- Develop, implement, and maintain internal controls to ensure financial reports accurately reflect the actual position of the organization and adequate controls are in place to track funds received through various channels.
- Identify and monitor trends in the installation financial management system.
- Monitor financial information to ensure accuracy and provide guidance on the management actions or alternatives which can be taken when available data discloses unfavorable trends, situations, ratios, or deviations from standards.
- Responsible for meeting requirements of the Financial Management Regulations (FMR) and GAO standards to ensure appropriate allocation of resources for reliable financial reporting and audit readiness.
- Ensure payroll operations run according to applicable DOD guidance.
- Ensure all reports and key supporting documentation are properly stored and available for audit purposes.
- Perform first line and second-line supervisory responsibilities over a number of contractor and General Schedule (GS) positions at the GS-7 to GS-12 grade levels.
- Conduct meetings/interviews with directors, program managers, employees, and supervisors to analyze problems and develop possible solutions relative to those systems.
- Maintain the organizations Debt Management Program to ensure procedures promote debt avoidance.
- Interpret and clarify Branch policies and resolves operational problems.
