How You’ll Succeed
Strategic & Business Planning -Support and contribute to strategic and business planning, supporting GM & DFS Business Managers and Head of GM & DFS; Partner with infrastructure groups to implement/execute strategic and business plans; Project manage new initiatives, including Change Initiative Risk Assessments (CIRAs).
Product Onboarding and Risk Delegation - Ensure that Risk Delegations and Authorized Products Lists are up-to-date across GM & DFS; Oversight of the Capital Markets Authorized Product Onboarding Process.
Governance & Compliance - Ensure the completion and accuracy of all GM & DFS Basel Trading Strategies; Ensure the completion and accuracy of all GM & DFS Policy & Procedure documents; Support Supervision and Controls on any compliance, regulatory, or related issues, as requested; Develop and implement improvements to internal procedures and practices. Specifically ensure effective and documented internal controls are in place and evidenced by policies and procedures specific to the individual business activities. Oversee governance and compliance functions/issues on behalf of the GM & DFS business, including - Ensure compliance with Change Initiative Risk Assessments (CIRAs) with respect to new initiatives; Support execution of new contracts and agreements with vendors and partners in collaboration with Corporate Services, Legal, and other internal stakeholders; Accountable to ensure the completion of all GM & DFS governance functions –User System Access, Contract Review, etc.; Oversight of the Business Continuity Management plans and milestones as Accountable Officer for GM & DFS; Support GM & DFS business management team, front office and internal partners in the implementation of new compliance and governance requirements; Management, oversight of audits and related follow-up items including coordinating and responding to auditor/regulator requests, findings and reports; Working with Capital Markets Governance & Control teams to ensure suitable and effective controls are in place and help manage and support the coordination of the deficiency management process across GM & DFS;
Finance/MIS - Work with business, Business Managers and/or Finance Business Support to develop. Management and Board Presentations; Quarterly Operational Risk Dashboard and analysis; and other presentations.
Cross-Functional Relationships - Strong interpersonal and communication skills allowing the incumbent to work alongside the business, including Head of GM & DFS, on a day-to-day basis; Establish and maintain effective relationships with partners in CIBC, including, Operations, Finance, Risk Management, Technology, Legal and Compliance and other corporate governance groups as required to help address and resolve day-to-day issues as well as deliver on business initiatives; and Maintain regular dialogue with regional business managers and their teams as required on global initiatives and issues.

You possess knowledge of Financial Products (products and processes) with a minimum of 10 years of working experience in the Financial Services industry is an asset;
You have university degree in Business Management/Accounting Designation. CA, CMA, CGA, or equivalent, is preferred;
You have strong problem solving, analytical, judgment and change implementation capabilities;
You have the ability to establish and build healthy working relationships and partnerships with the business, as well as peers, and wide variety of stakeholders (Finance, Middle Office, Risk Management, Technology, etc.);

About the Project:
Nigeria’s Global Fund Resilient and Sustainable System for Health (RSSH) Grant Cycle 7 (GC7) is supporting a health financing project which will provide health insurance for select vulnerable populations to assist them to attain quality health outcomes without financial hardship. Management Sciences for Health (MSH) will implement this project in 4+1 states for the period 2024-2026. The project implementation will be accompanied by evaluation and learning to support improvements in service delivery, health financing and sustainability. The Project Director will have overall responsibility for the successful implementation of the project, ensuring that targets are met, results achieved, and all donor requirements fulfilled.
About the Role:
The Project Director is the technical lead for the project and is responsible for coordinating and managing all activities for this project. S/he shall be accountable and responsible for the development, regular update and implementation of the work plan and budget to ensure attainment of the program goals and objectives. S/he will lead the project implementation and oversight in line with the project’s goal, objectives and approaches, to contribute to the strategic goals of health financing in Nigeria, working in close collaboration with the National and State Health Insurance Authorities, relevant disease programmes of the Federal and State Ministries of Health, Civil Society Networks, and development partners. • Obtain and provide regular feedback to employees from other project team members and key stakeholders to assist in personal
and professional development. May attend project team meeting in order to support development needs. Identify skill and
competency gaps at the individual level and work to craft development plans that will close the gaps.;
• Ensure direct reports demonstrate working knowledge of EAC, baseline and change control in terms of scope, budget, schedule
and risk/issue management.;
• Train the Project Lead management team on process and procedures. Ensure required trainings are completed on time.
• Complete and discuss the Project Lead competency framework with each direct report.
• Actively engage with the review of project performance dashboard for tracked information. Follow up with direct reports to
ensure system and metrics compliance.;
• Review metrics and ensure required updates are made in IQVIA systems to ensure accurate and timely reporting is available to senior management
• Proactively manage risks linked to resourcing, project and/or individual needs with other management and leadership team members to manage study issues and obstacles.
• Work with individual staff to identify any quality issues within the study and provide coaching on resolution of issues, including implementation of corrective and preventative action plans and escalation.
• Provide technical expertise and/or clinical project management experience to assigned staff for training and process improvement efforts.
• Lead and/or actively participate in corporate initiatives, act as a departmental cross-functional liaison and/or change agent, provide technical expertise and project management experience.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree Bachelor's Degree in life sciences or related field required Req
• Requires broad management knowledge to lead teams, as well as the ability to influence others outside of own job area regarding policies, procedures, and goals.;
• Requires 12 years of prior relevant experience, including substantial project management or relevant functional experience.
• Equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• Knowledge of clinical trials - In depth knowledge and skill in applying, applicable clinical research regulatory requirements; i.e. Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and International Conference on Harmonization (ICH) guidelines.;
• Knowledge of clinical trials - Strong understanding of Clinical Research industry and the relevant environments in which it operates.
