What You’ll Be Doing
As a Senior Director, Commercial Credit, you will manage a major segment of risk rated credits from Commercial Banking in Western Canada. By exercising good credit judgment and providing leadership to a group of risk managers, you will ensure that effective credit policies and strategies are in place and are adhered to in order to sustain portfolio quality and support effective portfolio growth. You will invest in relationships with visits to locations and some travel will be required to meet partners and clients or to work with the wider team.

How You’ll Succeed
Risk Management Leadership – You will manage and develop a team of Credit Risk professionals, sharing knowledge, growing skill, supporting productivity as well as employee engagement objectives. You will represent or lead as required in projects/initiatives that have both Regional and National scope. You will interface with Leadership in our Business Partners, aligning objectives, activities and resources, and support the growth of credit capability and relationship trust with Commercial Bankers.
Transactional Adjudication Expertise – You will ensure sound credit judgment is applied to credit requests, shaping credit solutions to align with our Risk Appetite. You will support evolution of and effective execution of approved risk rating methodologies, develop and maintain industry expertise within your team for the assigned industry sectors covered, and ensure credit applications and credit policies and processes are effectively managed, documented and adhered to.
Portfolio Management – Measure, monitor and control credit risks, actively engaging your team to identify and assess challenges in accounts, industries, and shape action plans to effectively minimize capital and resource costs and loan losses. You will manage and review reporting processes to ensure that credit irregularities are identified and resolved on a timely basis and ensure performance of portfolio for trends; non-performing and problem accounts; assessing revenue and loss experience ratios; identification of under-performing units. Overall, you will assess effectiveness of current credit policies and procedures, develop action plans outlining corrective actions to be taken to resolve credit problems; and monitor such corrective plans for resolution and effectiveness.

What You’ll Be Doing

The Senior Infrastructure Cloud Engineer is responsible for providing technical recommendations and subject matter expertise to ensure stable, reliable production and non-production environments for complex sharing initiatives in compliance with established controls, standards, policies, and procedures. The role collaborates with and advises senior management, utilizing a solid understanding of business dynamics to analyze and protect production and non-production environment integrity and mitigate risks, present and recommend solutions using available resources for complex initiatives with key dependencies. The Senior Consultant, Cloud Engineering provides technical leadership, interpreting complex information and coordinating client, provider, and vendor relationships to meet and manage service expectations, aligned to best practices. Leadership & Communication: Provide technical leadership during the design, build, configuration, implementation and maintenance phases of major public and private Cloud technologies and automation tooling in a multi-platform environment. Lead the evaluation, selection and implementation of new and emerging products and techniques; support the development of business/technology proposals by estimating implementation costs and evaluating options. Governance: Proactively contribute to governance initiatives in the development of company policies, audit requirements etc. Provide technical or business guidance to clients within and outside your own department.
Engineering: Provide automation expertise within core automation DevOps tool chain and orchestration expertise in Provisioning and Public Cloud. Determine standards and roadmaps for hardware and software. Decide how infrastructure is built and recommends Cloud-based standards for organization wide initiatives based on area of expertise. Conduct major studies regarding system usage, make recommendations for improvements, and determine infrastructure system requirements. Design, develop and test emerging Cloud-based software solutions. Provide ongoing analysis and evaluation of test plan, all additions and changes to ensure they are introduced in a manner that protects the integrity of the environment and mitigates risks. Provide in-depth subject matter expertise to perform broad impact analysis, present alternative solutions, and make recommendations for complex initiatives and projects. Who You Are
You can demonstrate experience in design, implementation and support of technologies and technology-based solutions on Cloud platforms.
Minimum of 6 years of related experience is required. Understanding of Waterfall and Agile delivery methodologies, terminologies and ceremonies is mandatory.
Experience in ServiceNow and Microsoft Azure is required, while additional experience in Amazon Web Services is preferred. Proficiency with tools such as GitHub, JIRA, Confluence, and Continuous Integration (CI)/ Continuous Delivery (CD) systems is required. Strong technical knowledge and subject matter expertise in Microsoft's Azure, ARM Templating, Azure DevOps Pipeline implementation of “infrastructure as code” deliveries, Role Based Access Control (RBAC), and monitoring/hardening/policing/templating/delivery of Azure Services will be key to your success. Proficiency with Bicep, JSON and PowerShell scripting is a must.
Experience with IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, and network and security related solutions is required. Technical knowledge and subject matter expertise in Windows Server, Linux/Unix and Middleware tier is required. Experience with Azure Firewalls, ExpressRoute & IPSec Tunnels, Virtual WAN, WAF, Network Security Groups (NSG) and other network and security components of Azure will be valuable. Microsoft Azure certifications, as well as ITIL certifications would be considered as assets. Experience with other cloud technologies like AWS would be an asset. What You’ll Be Doing
This position is an ideal choice for experienced candidates with exceptional leadership skills, developed business credit management skills, a depth of experience in working with commercial banking clients and a passion for working in a client-centric environment that aligns to a strong performance culture. As a Director, Commercial Banking, you will join CIBC to manage and grow a portfolio of commercial banking clients by proactively developing new business opportunities in the community and ensuring clients’ day-to-day banking needs are being met at the highest level. Your role will not be just to be a banker — you will be a banking partner, a true champion for our clients’ businesses, who will be committed to delivering on flexible business solutions, dedicated business expertise and timely business advice to help our clients realize their goals.
