About The Role
We are seeking a skilled JavaScript Developer to join our dynamic team remotely across the United States, excluding certain states and districts. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in supporting the development, maintenance, and enhancement of solutions for the Department of Veterans Affairs. This position requires a professional with at least five years of experience in JavaScript development, proficiency in modern frameworks and tools, and a strong understanding of agile methodologies. The JavaScript Developer will design, build, and deploy high-impact applications, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and ensure system reliability through monitoring and logging practices. The role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to federal healthcare initiatives, work with cutting-edge technologies like React 18, TypeScript, Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines, and support mission-critical systems.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of JavaScript development experience
- Proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript programming
- Experience with React 18 framework
- Strong knowledge of GitHub for source control management
- Experience with Prometheus for monitoring and logging
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Harness, Nexus, SonarQube, HashiCorp Vault
- Ability to monitor dashboards using Grafana
- Experience with containerization, including Docker images and Kubernetes pipelines
- Understanding of RESTful API design and third-party integrations
- Experience working within an Agile development environment
- Experience supporting federal agencies and healthcare systems (preferred)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in team environments and with clients
- U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Resident status with at least 3 years residing in the U.S.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Federal Civilian Public Trust clearance
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain efficient and reliable JavaScript code using React 18 framework
- Support and enhance applications with TypeScript integration
- Deploy applications utilizing Docker containers and manage orchestration with Kubernetes
- Build, test, and promote container images within containerization pipelines
- Develop and integrate RESTful APIs and third-party services to support application functionality
- Collaborate with development, testing, and operations teams to ensure seamless deployment and performance
- Participate in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for automated testing and deployment
- Conduct code reviews, resolve defects, and ensure adherence to coding standards
- Monitor system health and performance metrics using Prometheus and Grafana dashboards
- Maintain clear, comprehensive documentation of code, processes, and systems
- Support troubleshooting and resolution of technical issues in a timely manner
- Engage in continuous learning to stay current with emerging technologies and best practices
