The Role
- Design, build, and maintain scalable RESTful APIs using Node.js and Express.
- Develop APIs supporting specialty referral decisioning workflows, including specialty recommendation, provider/specialist matching, and notifications.
- Design and optimise database schemas, indexes, and queries using PostgreSQL, PgAdmin, Prisma, and Liquibase.
- Implement complex business rules and decision-logic engines within backend services.
- Develop comprehensive unit and integration tests using Jest, Mocha, or similar frameworks.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate healthcare workflows and business requirements into reliable backend solutions.
What You'll Need
- 4+ years of professional Node.js and Express experience.
- Strong understanding of RESTful API design, API versioning, and JSON schema validation.
- Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL, including schema design, indexing, and query optimisation.
- Experience with Prisma, PgAdmin, and Liquibase.
- Proven experience building and maintaining production REST APIs.
- Experience implementing business rules, decision logic, or rules engines within backend services.
