About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled JavaScript Developer to join our remote team supporting the Department of Veterans Affairs. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, maintaining, and monitoring critical applications that serve our nation's veterans. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years of experience in JavaScript development, with proficiency in modern frameworks and tools. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including testers and other developers, to build scalable and reliable solutions using cutting-edge technologies such as React 18, TypeScript, Docker, and Kubernetes. Your expertise will contribute to the enhancement of healthcare-related applications, ensuring they are efficient, secure, and compliant with federal standards. Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of JavaScript development experience
- Proficiency in JavaScript and above-average proficiency in TypeScript
- Strong experience with React 18 framework
- Hands-on experience with GitHub for source control management
- Knowledge of Prometheus for system monitoring and logging
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Jenkins, Harness, Nexus, SonarQube, HashiCorp Vault
- Ability to monitor dashboards like Grafana for system health and metrics
- Experience with containerization, including Docker images and Kubernetes
- Familiarity with RESTful API development and third-party service integration
- Experience working in Agile development environments
- Prior experience supporting federal agencies and healthcare systems (preferred)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in team settings and with clients
- U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Resident status with at least 3 years residing in the U.S.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Federal Civilian Public Trust clearance
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain efficient and reliable JavaScript applications using React 18
- Support and develop applications with TypeScript to ensure type safety and code quality
- Deploy applications utilizing Docker containers and manage them with Kubernetes orchestration
- Build, test, and promote container images as part of containerization efforts
- Design and develop RESTful APIs and integrate with third-party services to enhance application functionality
- Collaborate with team members to build and optimize CI/CD pipelines for automated deployment and testing
- Perform code reviews and resolve defects to maintain high-quality standards
- Monitor system health and performance metrics using Prometheus and Grafana dashboards
- Document development processes, system configurations, and code for future reference and compliance
- Work closely with testers, project managers, and other developers to ensure project success
- Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry best practices to continuously improve solutions
