Great Place for Engineers to Learn and Grow
Pros: I really like the team atmosphere here. Everyone's pretty supportive, and I've learned a ton from my senior colleagues in the engineering field. There are plenty of opportunities for professional development and training, which has been great for my career growth. The hybrid work model for Project Engineers also offers decent work flexibility, making it easier to manage personal commitments. It feels like a stable environment overall.
Cons: Sometimes, the internal approval processes can feel a bit slow, especially on larger engineering projects in our industry. It can occasionally make hitting project deadlines a bit more challenging than they need to be. Also, while there's good career growth if you're proactive, the promotion path isn't always super fast, so you need to be patient and keep pushing.
Advice to Management: Streamline some of the administrative approval workflows to improve project efficiency. Continue investing in targeted leadership training for mid-level managers.

Supportive Environment for a Business Development Manager
Pros: The company culture at Applus+ UK is definitely a strong point. As a Business Development Manager, I felt well-supported by my colleagues and management in Stockton-On-Tees. There’s a collaborative spirit within the sales team, which helps when tackling new clients in the diverse industrial services landscape. I appreciated the opportunities to learn about different aspects of inspection, testing, and certification, constantly expanding my industry knowledge. You also get a good degree of
Cons: While the overall experience was positive, there are minor areas for improvement. Sometimes, during particularly busy periods or when dealing with larger, more complex proposals for industrial clients, the workload could feel quite heavy. Also, being part of a large, global inspection, testing, and certification firm like Applus+ means that internal approval processes can occasionally be a bit slow, impacting the speed of client engagement. Job security feels decent, but like any sales role,
Advice to Management: My advice would be to continue fostering the collaborative team culture that makes Applus+ UK a great place to work. Focus on streamlining some of the internal approval workflows, especially for Business Development Managers who need to react quickly to market demands in the industrial services

Good Place for Learning and Stable Career in Certification
Pros: I've really enjoyed my time at Applus+ UK as a Project Coordinator. It's a great place to learn and develop, especially if you're keen on the engineering and certification industry. The team is super supportive, and I've had the chance to work on some genuinely interesting technical projects. There's a good sense of stability here, which is reassuring.
Cons: Career progression can feel a bit slow sometimes, and the approval processes for things can be lengthy. It's a big company, so things don't always move as fast as you'd hope. Also, like any project-based role, there are occasional busy periods that can make work-life balance a bit tricky, but it's manageable overall.
Advice to Management: Streamline promotion paths and decision-making processes to keep talented people engaged.
