Pros: The best part of my time at Crew was definitely the people. I worked with incredibly bright and dedicated engineers and designers who were always willing to help out. The product itself is interesting and has a lot of potential. Being in the heart of the tech scene in NYC was also a plus. The remote work flexibility was appreciated.
Cons: As with many growing startups, processes and documentation could sometimes lag behind the rapid development pace. This occasionally led to confusion or duplicated effort. Management was generally supportive, but sometimes felt a bit disconnected from the day-to-day engineering challenges, which impacted timely decision-making on certain technical fronts.
Advice to Management: Focus on streamlining internal communication and project management workflows to support the engineering team more effectively as the company scales. Invest in mentorship programs.

Pros: Enjoyed the dynamic environment of a growing tech company. As a Software Engineer, I appreciated the challenging projects and the opportunity to work on innovative features for their on-demand labor platform. The team was collaborative and supportive, making for a pleasant work atmosphere in the Bayport, MN office.
Cons: Sometimes, there was a lack of clear communication from leadership regarding long-term company strategy. This could lead to some uncertainty about project priorities. More transparency would definitely help align everyone better.
Advice to Management: Consider increasing transparency around long-term strategic goals to better align teams and enhance overall employee confidence and direction.

Pros: The best part about working with Crew is the flexibility. As a Field Service Technician, I could pick up jobs that fit my schedule, which was crucial. The pay was decent for the type of work, and the platform made finding new opportunities in the service industry pretty straightforward. Support was generally responsive when issues arose.
Cons: While flexible, the job security can fluctuate based on demand for specific services. Some of the dispatched jobs could have last-minute changes or require travel that wasn't always compensated optimally. It's definitely a gig economy role, so you have to be comfortable with that variability.
Advice to Management: Consider offering more consistent training opportunities and clearer communication on job changes to enhance the technician experience and retention.
