Pros: The team I worked with was fantastic, very collaborative and skilled. We tackled some interesting projects in the software development lifecycle. The hybrid work model was a big plus, offering flexibility for managing personal appointments. There's a sense of camaraderie and shared purpose among many employees, which made coming to work (or logging in) enjoyable most days.
Cons: The biggest challenge was the unpredictable workload. Projects often had scope creep or tight deadlines that weren't managed well, leading to significant overtime, especially for the engineering team. This inconsistency made true work-life balance difficult to maintain at times. Communication from higher leadership about project pipelines could also be more transparent.
Advice to Management: Consider more realistic project planning and resource allocation to prevent burnout. Better upfront communication about project demands would significantly help employees manage expectations and their own time.
