Verisk Maplecroft’s Global Risk Insight team is responsible for research, analysis and advisory services relating to political, security, social, economic and regulatory issues around the world. The team also helps conceptualise, build and update Verisk Maplecroft’s global risk indices, covering over 150 issues and 198 countries. The team works alongside colleagues in Analytics, Sustainability / ESG and Markets teams to deliver unique, impactful analysis and advice to our clients.
Role Purpose
We have a vacancy for a Principal Consultant within the Asia-Pacific region. The ideal candidate will have strong problem solving and commercial capabilities, underpinned by a robust understanding of how geopolitical and country-specific political issues can impact the business landscape for multinational corporations and practical measures that organisations can implement to mitigate risks and capture opportunities. The Principal Consulting will focus on providing advisory services to companies both from the APAC region and external companies with operations, investments and/or supply chains in the region. The successful candidate will also play a prominent role in building Verisk Maplecroft’s political risk practice within the region.
Main Responsibilities
· Providing a leadership role on consulting projects, including acting as the primary point of contact for clients and holding responsibility for the successful delivery of project outputs / achievement of project objectives
· Support business development activities, including identification and development of client needs, project scoping and proposal writing
· Providing insights and analysis to clients via analyst calls, briefings and presentations
· Promoting Verisk Maplecroft’s brand within the region through thought leadership, attendance at external events, engagement with journalists/media outlets, and more
· Contributing innovative ideas and solutions to support improvements in product offerings and internal processes
Knowledge & Experience
· At least ten years of relevant professional experience, ideally within an advisory and/or industry capacity
· A track record of hands on, practical experience of managing and/or working on geopolitical risk projects for corporate clients or in an in-house capacity
· Excellent communications skills particularly presenting to live / remote audiences, preparing engaging slide decks and written analysis
· Strong analytical skills and experience using various analytical frameworks and techniques such as gap assessment, benchmarking, scenario analysis, horizon scanning, risk/impact assessment, etc
· Experience working with statistical analysis/analytic teams to provide quantitative and qualitative solutions for clients
· Ability and experience in developing innovative solutions to solve problems / address business needs within our various solution areas
· Experience and enthusiasm for business development activities, including proactive engagement with potential clients and reactive scoping and proposal writing
· Ability to work flexibly, independently and within multi-disciplinary, international teams
