About the Role
Katherine based chartered accounting firm that deals in taxation, bookkeeping and business advice. We have many not-for-profit clients and a broad commercial client base dealing in agriculture, tourism and other services. This role will be working with both junior and senior staff in taxation and financial reporting roles.
We have 40 employees, across 3 locations, including 28 qualified accountants.

Tasks and Responsibilities
- Manage a small team of staff in Katherine, NT
- Financial reporting and grant documentations for the not-for-profit sector
- Presentations to Not-for-profit board members including travel to remote locations
- Company, trust and partnership tax returns and financial statements
- Mentor interns and graduates
- Travel to Darwin to assist in graduate training program and to meet with management team quarterly

Skills and Experience
- This role requires 5 years public practice experience working in a similar role
- You will have your CA or CPA
- Excellent oral presentation skills

• Responsible for all monthly postings and month-end tasks to ensure the completeness and accuracy of general ledger, complies with IFRS.
• Preparing monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations.
• Work with the Finance team to resolve outstanding issues on monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
• Develop and manage an end-to-end accounting and bookkeeping system for financial reports to tax reports
• Manage taxation related matters
• Coordinate and complete annual audits
• Managing the daily operations of the growing accounting department (payable, receivable, cash monitoring, monthly closing) 
• Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies and principles
• Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions
