Group Strategy Director (Also known as Group Strategy/Planning Director or Group Communications Planner/Director)

The Group Strategy Director, alongside the Head of Strategy leads a team of strategists and is responsible for driving the strategic direction on behalf of a portfolio of clients or client. They are responsible for ensuring work meets the highest standards, locally and competitively within our global network.
• Demonstrate leadership, commercial acumen and vision and inspire their team to deliver a cohesive, proactive approach to strategy which helps our clients grow.
• Works closely with the client teams and the senior leadership team to ensure that the product delivered to clients is truly integrated and best in class.
• Responsible for increasing the visibility of the Spark strategic product.
• Accountable for financial performance, inclusive of revenue, client commercial agreements and team costs, encompassing long term planning for the team, reflective of client and team development needs.
• Acts as a senior client escalation point, and trusted strategic advisor for key clients.
• Works with the relevant Strategy Directors/ Account Directors/ Client Partners to guide them on the output of work that works for their clients and the optimal use of agency resource to achieve this.
• Develops and manages the Strategy Directors and broader agency team
• Works with the Head of Strategy to define and deliver projects that enhance the output and efficiency of the team including managing resource in line with the ebb and flow of client work.
• Recommend and recruit for new/ replacement roles to fit any changes to the client portfolio
• Track head hour utilisation or the ream against the agreed remuneration for individual clients and agency projects
• Acting as a trusted advisor to clients and internal stakeholders
• Participation in agency new business
Experience required: Minimum 12 years industry experience, most recently in a similar position. Proven business acumen in medium to large agency. Possess an expert understanding of consumer psychology, behavioural economics, macro-economic influences, trends and current marketing science thinking and an exceptional ability to make this actionable.
• All of the above roles require a relevant tertiary qualification or a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in lieu of qualification.

Location: Sydney, Melbourne & Brisbane Salary: $90,000 - $110,000 package

Associate Activation Director (Also known as; Associate Investment Director, Senior Activation Manager, Senior Investment Manager, Senior trading Manager, Associate Trading Director, Associate Client Director, Senior Client Manager).

Role Overview
The purpose of the Associate Activation Director is to oversee the Activation team to deliver exceptional results across their client patch, including managing major client or sponsorship negotiations. Provide a high level of client service and maintain a cohesive working environment. The Associate Activation Director is responsible for the development of Activation Manager, Snr / Activation Executive and Coordinator, management of their workload, supervision of their output, regular feedback and conducting formal reviews.
Responsibilities
Activating all campaigns
• Support Activation Director / Group Activation Director for annual media negotiations and quarterly deals
• Help analyse and negotiate major sponsorships and cross channel media partnerships including digital
• Negotiate trading positions where there are no long-term deals in place across all media ensuring all benchmarks (client & internal), trading strategies & contractual agreements are met.
• Manages and ensures maximum savings and added value are delivered and merchandises these to clients
• Oversees overall client Campaign reconciliation reporting to ensure 100% accuracy and elevates results internally and to clients

Client Management
• Activation point of contact for clients – proactively presents relevant update, commercial opportunities and relevant market first opportunities.
• Escalation point where necessary to ensure issues are resolved in a fair and objective manner
• Merchandise negotiation results to clients through-out activity
• Ensures all clients across the agency are kept up to date with media marketplace
• Has a good understanding of client’s business and clients internal pressures
• Ensures 100% of contracted trading commitments and savings are met
Market Analysis
• Proactively completes regular and continuous analysis of market trends, economic issues and other factors effecting buys
• Sources content and provides relevant insights for inclusion within market reviews and other adhoc client requests.
Internal & external relationship management
• Establish relationships and regular contact with Senior Sales managers and GSM's
• Escalation point where necessary to ensure issues are resolved in a fair and objective manner
• Perform regular WIP's to monitor and offer guidance across all campaigns
• Manage the Activation team in delivering best practice client service
Team Development & Management
• Oversee workflow across client patch, manage internal process effectively to minimise error and increase efficiencies.
• Develop, train and delegate effectively with clear instructions. Particular emphasis on upskilling Activation team knowledge of media channels, the media landscape and best practise activation, as well as inspiring Spark values
Skills & Experience:
• This role requires a relevant tertiary qualification with 2 or more years’ experience in a similar role OR a minimum of 5 years relevant work experience in lieu of qualification.
• Expert across the following Office platforms: Word, PowerPoint and Excel
• Possess sound financial management skills including a good understanding of the revenue reporting process
• Expert media understanding including an understanding of the full suite of media tools
