Our client is looking for an experienced risk and compliance expert to join the team as a Growth Director - Risk and Compliance and play a key role in driving our growth.Bringing extensive market knowledge and networks, the right candidate will extend our reach across target markets to generate commercial opportunities and develop customer understanding across the company.
This is an excellent opportunity to use your market knowledge and proven track record in managing sanctions compliance or risk evaluation and mitigation processes and resources in the financial services or shipping sector, to support and drive ambitious growth plans.
This is a permanent role, reporting to the Regional Head of Sales. This role is balanced working model between home and office located in Singapore.
Brand building and thought leadership
Build relationships with key regulators, industry associations and bodies and specialist consultants to further understand the market landscape and raise awareness ofthe company as a data partner
Identify opportunities and present at industry conferences, lead and deliver in house webinars, facilitate sector-focused customer advisory groups to facilitate customer understanding of how we help
Work with editorial and marketing colleagues to create thought leadership content that outlines and discusses the market challenges and showcases our services as part of the solution. Ensure all teams talk to the customer in a relevant and compelling way.
Expand our market reach and share
- Make introductions in the market and generate contacts for sales and marketing
- Collaborate with the commercial teams in meetings and calls to develop and close sales opportunities to achieve the shared targets
- Support Product Management with identifying relevant professionals to approach for customer discovery discussions and make introductions
- Act as the industry expert and senior leader in meetings with customers to help explore opportunities and progress deals
Understand the market landscape
Build a strong understanding of the target market’s interaction with, and use of, key consultants, systems integrators, trainers, and software to support risk and compliance workflows. Present findings and insight to drive commercial choices and strateg
- Document and share competitor product insight as input into proposition and pricing
- Track and translate changes in the market conditions and PESTEL factors that would impact our strategy and plans
Secure customer feedback
- Facilitate customer advisory group meetings to explore customer needs and feedback potential product, partnership, and customer support ideas
- Provide feedback on customers’ changing workflows and needs
- Feedback on how well customers understand our messaging, positioning and pitches based on insight collected from customers and prospects and suggest improvements
- Ensure content and messaging in webinars and sales and marketing materials is relevant and talks to customers’ challenges and needs
- At least 7 years’ experience in a team directly managing the data and processes that support in-house sanctions compliance or risk evaluation (trade finance operations, financial crime monitoring, trade based anti-money laundering, KYCC and counterparty risk, sanctions screening: within financial services or the shipping industry)
- Acting as subject matter expert in your organisation and the industry
- Building the right data, processes, and resources to identify and mitigate compliance risk across maritime trade
- Delivering outstanding and memorable face to face and online industry presentations, making the complex simple
- Carrying out market research and assessing the viability of projects and plans
- Driving the creation of industry relevant thought-leadership content
- Proven track record of leading effectively in a matrixed organisation
- Good project management skills
