The appointee will work across the North Manchester site, gaining clinical experience reflecting their training ambitions and needs. The role will combine working alongside and supporting consultant and
trainee colleagues in Anaesthesia whilst providing out of hours resident cover on a full shift basis on a European Working Time Directive (EWTD) compliant Rota. This post is suitable for individuals with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in Anaesthesia and wishing to gain further experience and skills in this specialty. This role is also suited to colleagues who have completed stage 1 training in Anaesthesia and are wishing to gain stage 2 competencies ahead of joining/re-joining a formal training programme, or for colleagues who are working towards a CESR application.

The Anaesthetics Department, based at Oxford Road Campus as part of Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT), is seeking to employ a number of Clinical Fellows across the following areas:

The post holder will be the identified lead in the absence of the ward manager. Their role involves collaboration with the Ward manager in ensuring delivery of high calibre care, and efficient use of

Ensure that child protection and vulnerable adult legislation is adhered to within own practice and service. Provide a visible clinical profile, having both an advisory and clinical input into patient care as directed by the Lead Nurse. It is a requirement for all staff to comply with all infection control policies and procedures as set out in the Trust Infection Control manual.


Education & Development
Contribute to the delivery of specific and relevant teaching programmes for all disciplines and grades of staff, client group and carers within the Trust in relation to area of speciality. Maintain the education of link nurses, and clinical areas who contribute to the patient pathway. Pursue his/her own education in line with national agendas, and personal need formulating personal objectives related to service need within personal development plan. Act as mentor/preceptor and resource person for all nursing and support staff, as appropriate to the role.

This is a 12 month fixed term contract to cover maternity leave.

The post holder will work within the team to help facilitate and develop breast cancer services within Manchester Foundation Trust by acting as an ambassador for the breast clinical nurse specialists (BCNS) team. They will provide professional, clinical and innovative care delivery within a multi-professional team after undergoing any training required for the role.

The Macmillan Breast Clinical Nurse Specialist will work as an integral member of the multi-disciplinary team to provide expert advice and support for patients with suspected or confirmed breast cancer, benign breast problems as well as patients undergoing gender reassignment. They will provide specialist nursing knowledge and expertise in the management of patients, liaising with colleagues across care settings to ensure specialist assessment, providing holistic packages of care and ensuring patients receive prompt and evidence-based care.

The post holder will devise and deliver programmes of specialist education and training to healthcare professionals, patients and carers. They will work to develop the breast service in collaboration with health care colleagues.

The post holder will be required to work across Manchester Foundation Trust hospitals as well as in the breast unit at Royal Oldham Hospital.

Informal visits are encouraged and part-time hours may be considered for suitable candidates.



The Macmillan Breast CNS’ hold various nurse-led clinics such as arranging to see patients to discuss their treatment options in detail which significantly decreases the time that the Consultant spends when signing the consent form and ensures that the patient is fully informed, thus decreasing possible litigation claims. The nurses also explain complex oncological treatments, perform comprehensive wound assessments and management and hold telephone consultations with patients, again reducing the need for out-patient appointments or GP visits. In addition, they undertake treatment summaries as well as telephone triage clinics.

All of these contacts are recorded on the Trust’s new Hive IT system.

Other aspects of the role include covering various clinics which include one-stop clinics, follow-up clinics, reconstruction clinics, oncology and gender reassignment clinics; the aim of which is to support patients, identifying and addressing individual patient’s needs. Additionally, a proportion of their time is spent attending the multidisciplinary team meetings - this is a quality assurance requirement ensuring patient advocacy.

The nurses work as part of the multidisciplinary team which includes consultants, radiography staff, oncologists and pathology staff.

You'll be part of an established MDT on the unit, as well as part of our wider SLT team in the hospital and across the city. There is an exciting opportunity for a full time Consultant in Acute Medicine to join the existing team working across WTWA Hospitals.

The Acute Medical and Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) team includes 11 consultants with a breadth of specialty knowledge. We are supported by an excellent multidisciplinary team. This includes 3 Advanced care practitioners, one consultant nurse, 2 pharmacists, 3 physician associates, occupational and physiotherapists, discharge facilitators, locally employed senior and junior clinical fellows and rotating doctors in training.

We are keen to attract candidates interested in service development will support this in post. We are also keen to recruit a colleague who will contribute to the wider hospital including but not limited to supporting management and training (both undergraduate and postgraduate) activities. Regular multidisciplinary meetings include a team meeting for CPD, radiology meeting, biologics meeting and radiology/respiratory meeting.

MFT hosts one of the largest diagnostic Biochemistry services within the NHS. Now as its own directorate, Biochemistry resides within the division of laboratory medicine and currently comprises of laboratories across Oxford Road, Wythenshawe, Trafford and North Manchester Hospitals . Collectively the laboratories provide a diverse range of complex and specialist services for both adults and paediatrics across the country, with MFT being a large tertiary referral centre and university teaching hospital.

We have exciting opportunities at our Oxford Road Campus and are seeking enthusiastic, aspirational and highly motivated Medical Laboratory Assistants, ideally with laboratory experience in a relevant pathology discipline, to join our POCT team .The successful candidate will require a working knowledge of laboratory areas, including both practical and basic theoretical knowledge of the various methods employed and will join a team of Biomedical Scientists to deliver the day to day operation of the POCT team.

The Post holder will act as a Medical Laboratory Assistant supporting HCPC registered staff within the department, working under both direct and indirect supervision performing an extensive range of automated, semi-automated and manual techniques. Accuracy and attention to detail is essential to ensure the service is safe and complies with current standards, clinical governance, health and safety and risk management policies.

NHS laboratory and hospital experience are desirable; however full training will be provided. Candidates must be in possession of an appropriate science NVQ level3, HCS Apprenticeship level 2 certificate of achievement level1 or equivalent experience.

The post is full-time; 37.5 hours per week and will include working extending days and weekends to support the service

The department has full HCPC training status for pre and post registration IBMS portfolios and full ISO 15189 accreditation.

The post is based at Trafford Hospital with rotation to both Altrincham General Hospital and the CT and MR unit at Withington Hospital. The Radiology Department Assistants are fundamental to the smooth running of the department, supporting clinical activities in all modalities including CT, MR, Ultrasound and Fluoroscopy. Radiology is a busy sub-specialty and we undertake a wide range of examinations and this role provides the opportunity to work in a state-of-the-art environment together with a friendly and dedicated team of staff. You will become a valued member of the department and work closely with the Radiographers, Sonographers and Consultants and also with the wider multidisciplinary team.

The role will suit someone who likes to move around within a friendly department and is flexible. The access into all the areas within the department keeps the job interesting and the successful candidate will face different challenges in the different modalities.

Previous experience in a healthcare environment is desirable. You will assist in the care of the patients during their visit to the department and also clinical staff during procedures. You will prepare for and assist with Medical staff in performing procedures such as biopsies, aspirations and injections and other departmental duties to support the service.

You need to be able to work in a team environment and be able to work under pressure. You will need to be a good communicator as you will have to liaise with both clinical and non-clinical staff. You should also have good telephone skills as you must be able to take messages accurately to allow the other staff to make decisions regarding prioritization of workload.

This is a brilliant opportunity for a dedicated healthcare professional to promote and improve the mental health and well-being of Children, Young People and those who care for them. Working for MFT CAMHS, you’ll work with Children and Young People aged up to 18 years and who present with a wide range of complex emotional and behavioural difficulties. You’ll be supported to manage a defined caseload and have the responsibility for the assessment, treatment and discharge of children and young people. We’ll rely on you to ensure there is effective and sensitive communication between, the Children and Young People in your care, those who care for them, the health professionals you work with and other relevant agencies. MFT CAMHS sits within Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital (RMCH) and is comprised of 44 separate services, including 5 Core CAMHS services.

• With current NMC, HCPC or SWE registration alongside a recognised qualification, you’ll have a working knowledge of CAMHS and/or adult mental health and have an understanding of assessing complex mental health needs & levels of risk, including safeguarding and self-harm
• Using your experience of working with vulnerable people and their carers who present with complex mental health needs and are often a risk to themselves or others, you’ll undertake assessments and formulate plans for intervention, in collaboration with the Child, Young Person and those who care for them.
• Dedicated to providing an environment that encourages patient-centred involvement, you’ll promote good working relationships as part of a wider multi-disciplinary team, making sure care is coordinated with the internal and external departments you work with, with the ultimate aim of providing the best patient journey possible.
• Using your knowledge of evidence-based practice, you’ll offer therapeutic solutions in line with the National Institute for Health & Care Excellence (NICE) guidelines.
