The Opportunity:
The Senior Business Analyst facilitates business process improvement, product development and innovation by investigating, analysing, reviewing and documenting functional and non-functional business specifications.
This role manages the requirements development process through the elicitation, analysis, specification and verification of multiple levels of requirements from an end-to-end perspective and supports the ongoing management of the requirements. The Senior Business Analyst will also coordinate, and project manage the implementation and/or integration of new products or features including user training.
The Senior Business Analyst will possess significant subject matter expertise around Netwealth’s business, operational processes and key systems. They will share knowledge with, upskill and mentor other members of their Scrum team.
This role offers the opportunity to develop skills across a broad range of IT related disciplines.
What you will do:
Demonstrate a high level of subject matter expertise to bridge business requirements and IT solutions whilst providing technical and functional leadership to design and deliver best practice and cost-effective solution.
· Analyse the impact of technology changes on current business processes and existing technology. Identify and recommend change management activities as required.
· Facilitate collaborative system and data design sessions with the user community, technical architecture and development resources.
· Document functional business specifications, non-functional requirements, epics and User Stories. Break down complex initiatives in accordance with Agile/MVP principles
· Champion User Interface and User Experience considerations during design and development.
· Coordinate the delivery of User Stories through Sprints including scheduling, refining, development, testing and delivery to UAT.
· Negotiate scope changes between the Scrum team and the business sponsor(s).
· Ensure that developed solutions meet Netwealth’s information security, privacy and compliance requirements.
· Provide analytical support and stakeholder and project management for major business and IT projects as required.
· Practice knowledge transfer and foster change management as the organization changes and new skills are required, focusing on team/individual development.
· Analyse and evaluate system defects; triage and troubleshoot complex user-reported system defects; assist in various system trouble shooting and correction efforts including analysis, verification and validation of issues and fixes.
· Aid with ad hoc requests/ problems raised by other Netwealth departments, as directed by Manager – Platform Solutions.
· Work with the QA team to develop and/or review functional test plans and user acceptance test plans and scenarios.
· Assist as required with the coordination of functional and user acceptance testing.
You have:
Knowledge of Systems (Client/Adviser Portals, Registry & Operations Systems, Acurity)
3+ years experience
Competent SQL skills for data analysis and profiling
Experience within the finance industry is desirable, including experience in managing
Accounting / Tax Principles and Reporting
Regulatory and Audit Reporting
Process optimisation using data and analytics
Agile Experience, including
Scrum Master and/or Delivery Lead experience
Advanced knowledge of Financial Services Systems (Client/Adviser Portals, Registry & Operations Systems, Acurity)
Solid understanding of data governance practices (security, privacy, quality)
Strong communication skills (written and verbal), with internal and external clients
