Salary Range: £24,500.00-£32,000.00 per year, depending on experience
About the Role:
We are currently seeking a skilled Machine Tool Fitter / Mechanical Fitter for one of our esteemed clients. This role offers the opportunity to join a small design and manufacturing team. We require a candidate with relevant mechanical qualifications and experience, who is a versatile and adaptable engineer with strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach.
Key Responsibilities:
Assemble and fit bespoke CNC controlled machines for niche markets.
Perform mechanical fitting and assembly work, including tools, fixtures, sub-assemblies, pneumatic assemblies, and lifting equipment.
Construct bench-top quality control and laboratory equipment for the leather processing industry, including the completion of build records.
Calibrate and recalibrate OEM products, including bench-top quality control and laboratory equipment for the leather processing industry, and maintain calibration reports.

Requirements:
A good standard of education.
Apprentice-trained in relevant engineering disciplines, with qualifications such as City & Guilds, BTEC, NVQ, or similar.
Proficiency in reading mechanical and assembly technical drawings and following Bill of Materials (BOMs).
General IT competence.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
Ability to use general machinery in the fitting process, including turning, milling, and grinding.
Knowledge of CNC machines, including maintenance, programming, and setting.
Experience with wiring, including control panel assembly and machine wiring.
Forklift truck (FLT) license, including proficiency with jib and other attachments.
Knowledge of health and safety procedures, including the use of general lifting equipment such as A-frames and slings.

Experience:
Minimum 2 years of experience in mechanical engineering (preferred).
