Chief Surveyor - Marine
Abu Dhabi, UAE
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Chief Surveyor - Marine to join our team! In this role you will get to work on a construction supervision team responsible to supervise a dredging, reclamation, and ground improvement contractor on a high profile project in Abu Dhabi.
What You'll Be Doing:
Responsible to carry out the marine field surveys in tandem with a team, and dredging/reclamation contractor.
Responsible to conduct field operations/surveys on land and on marine vessels.
Responsible to witness contractor performing surveys, logging the information and verifying the installed quantities in coordination with the contractor, employer and quantity surveyors on the team.
Responsible to identify the client’s priority zones on the critical path and update progress reports daily. Must maintain Daily Log of all Activities.
Troubleshoot challenges with the Contractor and other Consultants in order to achieve measurable success.
Liaise with other agencies (Consultants/Contractors/ Relevant Authorities) to coordinate the survey work.
Prepare neat sketches to support the field work.
Preserve all the survey information (field books, sketches & calculations).
Complete all surveying assignments on schedule and within man-hour and cost budgets.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
Bachelors Degree or Diploma in Hydrographic Surveying / Field Surveying / Engineering.
Minimum of 12-15 years of related work experience in a Marine Engineering/Construction environment in the MENA Region.
Ability to communicate in English with a high proficiency both written and spoken.
Prior Experience on a Construction Supervision Consultant Team or Project Management Consultant Team.
Software Skills: Proficiency in Civil3D, AutoCAD, GPS and Office 365.

HSE Engineer

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented HSE Engineer to join our team!
In this role you will get to provide advise and assists Project and Construction Management in the formulation, implementation, and management of major project safety plans.
What You'll Be Doing:
Advises and assists the most senior construction site representative in the establishment and management of ESHARP Management and Parsons SH&E processes, identifying and eliminating/controlling any hazards to persons and property.
Audits and Inspects the job site to detect and correct safety hazards.
Supervises first aid personnel in providing first aid care of occupationally injured or ill personnel.
Audits the job accident records and periodically prepares an audit report of these records.
Initiates and conducts accident investigations and prepares job accident reports.
Represents management during safety inspections of the job site by regulatory authorities or company insurance carriers.
Receives, reviews and distributes safety inspection reports with recommended corrective actions.
Provides oversight to the new hire safety orientation process and other safety related training.
Conducts risk assessments for upcoming work and provides technical assistance to the safety planning process.
Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
B.Sc. or equivalent Degree in safety, health, and environmental/loss prevention or any relevant engineering disciplines from an accredited university.
With recognized Health and Safety education, certifications (ADVETI), ISO 45001:2018, ISO 14001:2015, license or training in UAE (e.g. NEBOSH Diploma, OSHAD-OSHMS Practitioner A or B, Audit ISO Qualifications, First Aid, Fire Safety, etc.).
Minimum 12+ years of construction supervision experience; out of which at least 6 years in a Supervisory role.
What Desired Skills You'll Bring:
Preferably with relevant experience working in an engineering consulting firm and infrastructure Project.
Preferably with experience in UAE and with a driving license is an advantage.
