Job Mandate
The Accounting Assistant is primarily responsible for bookeeping/encoding of accounting entries in the GL system and generation and preparation of various regulatory reports (MAS and Central bank of the Philippines) and other internal/accounting reports. He/She also assists the Accounting & HR Head in the budgeting process, HR matters and other control functions.
Duties & Responsibilities
1. Handles the day-to-day operation in the Accounting Unit including but not limited to:
a) Processes incoming and outgoing checks/documents.
b) Encodes and ensures that manually raised GL entries are properly posted.
c) Ensures penalty charges computation for overdrafts are correct, check purchase items as well as returned
items with outright credits.
d) Undertakes daily reconciliation of depository bank accounts, monthly balancing of SL Accounts (Accounts
Receivable /Payable, Sundry Debit/Credit, Teller’s/ATM Shortage/Overage, Miscellaneous Asset/Liabilities).
2. Do transaction verifications/callbacks and ensures completeness of source documents posted by the
system/internal users.
3. Ensures processing of branch expenses, prepayments, fixed assets and supplies purchases are in accordance
with the Bank’s policies and procedures.
4. Generates and prepares reports for Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) and Central Bank of the Philippines
(BSP) and other regulatory and internal reports.
5. Safekeeping of Documents
6. Ensures confidentiality of own password in all assigned systems and compliance to Bank’s Policies, Procedures,
KYC & AMLA requirements, Data Privacy and Service Quality Standards of the bank.
7. Performs other duties assigned from time to time.
