Okay balance, but often demanding for supply chain
Pros: The hybrid model was nice, usually 3 days in the office. This helped a lot with personal appointments and commuting. As a Supply Chain Analyst, I really liked the exposure to different global consumer goods markets. You get decent vacation time too, which is a plus.
Cons: Work-life balance can be really hit or miss here. We often had to work late, sometimes 50+ hours a week, especially during project deadlines for our industrial adhesives division. It's tough when you're managing global supply chains and time zones. There's not always a clear separation between work and personal life.
Advice to Management: Management should really look at workload distribution, especially for supply chain roles. Better planning could prevent constant crunch times. It would help a lot with employee burnout.

Okay Work-Life, But Can Get Busy
Pros: The hybrid work model is a lifesaver, letting me WFH a few days. You can usually leave around 5 PM if you manage your projects well. That's decent for the consumer goods industry.
Cons: There are definite crunch times, especially with new product launches. As a Product Development Engineer, project deadlines can creep into evenings. True 40-hour weeks are tough sometimes.
Advice to Management: Try to better staff R&D teams to prevent burnout during critical project phases. Managers should actively encourage disconnecting after hours.

Big Corporate, But Job Security Is Just Okay
Pros: It's a huge, global company, so it feels stable overall. You get decent benefits and good exposure if you're in a core area like consumer goods supply chain. The hybrid work setup is also a plus for some.
Cons: Job security is a real concern, especially with all the restructuring and mergers they do. As a Supply Chain Analyst, I saw a few rounds of layoffs in the Stamford, CT office. It's not always clear where your team stands, which creates uncertainty.
Advice to Management: Be more transparent about future plans and potential restructurings. Investing in reskilling for employees whose roles might be impacted would really help morale and job security.

Culture's okay, but feels pretty old school
Pros: The team I worked with in the marketing department was great. We had decent support for hybrid work, which helped a lot. It's a stable job in the consumer goods industry, so there's good job security here.
Cons: The company culture feels a bit stagnant for a big corporate company. Decisions often take forever, and it's hard to innovate as a Junior Marketing Specialist. There's not much emphasis on new ideas, which can be tough.
Advice to Management: Management needs to really focus on fostering a more dynamic and less bureaucratic environment. Encourage new ideas, especially for those in younger marketing roles, and speed up decision-making processes. Update the corporate culture for today's workforce.

Leadership needs more focus on employee growth
Pros: I've worked at the Stamford office as a Marketing Manager for a few years. It's a big corporate environment, so there are solid resources. You can learn a lot from experienced colleagues, especially in the consumer goods industry.
Cons: Leadership often feels a bit detached. They make decisions without much input from the ground level, which can be frustrating for those of us doing the day-to-day work. Career growth paths for middle management aren't always clear.
Advice to Management: Try to involve employees more in decision-making. Make sure the growth paths for Marketing Manager roles are clearer. More frequent, honest check-ins would help.

Pay's Okay, But Benefits Need a Boost
Pros: The base salary for corporate roles like a Supply Chain Analyst is competitive with other big corporate companies. You'll get a solid 401k match after a vesting period. It's a stable global company, so there's some job security, which is good in the consumer goods industry.
Cons: The health insurance costs are really high here, which eats into your take-home pay quite a bit. Don't expect huge bonuses; they're often tied to broad company performance, not individual impact. There's also not much negotiation room for initial offers, which is tough.
Advice to Management: Management should really look into improving the health benefits package. Lowering employee contributions would make a big difference for retention. Also, consider more transparent and competitive bonus structures, especially for the chemical manufacturing side, to motivate employees.

Career Growth is a Real Grind Here
Pros: It's a really stable place, which is good for job security. The benefits package is solid, and for junior roles in consumer goods, the initial training is actually pretty decent. I appreciate the hybrid model too, working from the Stamford, CT office.
Cons: Moving up as an Associate Brand Manager is super slow. There isn't much opportunity for career growth, especially for marketing roles in North America. People often have to leave Henkel to get a real promotion in the CPG industry.
Advice to Management: Management really needs to focus on creating clearer internal career paths. We need more structured development programs and opportunities to actually move up without having to look outside the company.

Decent Stability, But Watch Your Department
Pros: Henkel is a large corporate company, so overall job security feels pretty solid. It's a multinational firm with diverse products in consumer goods and adhesives, so there's always something going on. I felt okay as a Supply Chain Analyst in the Stamford, CT office.
Cons: However, department restructures can happen without much warning. It's not like the whole company is at risk, but certain operations roles can feel vulnerable during these shifts. Transparency around future projects isn't always great, which makes long-term planning tough.
Advice to Management: Try to be more transparent about upcoming organizational changes, especially for specific departments. Better communication could help employees feel more secure and less anxious about their long-term prospects in core operations roles.

Work-life balance is okay for some roles.
Pros: Honestly, the work-life balance for a Marketing Specialist at Henkel can be pretty decent if you manage your projects well. We usually stick to a 40-hour work week, which is solid. There's also some flexibility for remote work if you're in the Stamford, CT office, which is a big plus.
Cons: That said, during peak seasons for consumer goods launches, things get tough. I've had to put in extra hours, and it definitely eats into personal time. The pressure to deliver for a big corporate can be real, especially with tight deadlines.
Advice to Management: Try to staff teams better during peak periods. It would really help with burnout for those of us in consumer goods marketing.

Work-life balance is okay, but varies
Pros: I liked the hybrid model; it gave some flexibility during the week. My team in the Stamford, CT office was usually understanding if I needed to flex my hours, which was a huge plus.
Cons: Honestly, as an Associate Brand Manager, the workload can be intense, especially around product launches. It's a large corporate environment, so deadlines are often really tight in the CPG industry.
Advice to Management: Try to better manage the project load for brand management teams. There's a lot of pressure, and more resources could really help prevent burnout.
