Solid Work-Life Balance for a Remote Startup Role
Pros: I love the work flexibility Liminal offers. As a Software Engineer, I can largely set my own hours, which is a huge plus for my personal life. Being a remote-first company also saves tons of commute time, giving me more free evenings and weekends.
Cons: It's not always a consistent 40-hour week. During big product launches or critical web3 security updates, you're expected to put in longer hours. Those crunch periods can be tough on your work-life balance.
Advice to Management: Try to balance the workload more evenly across projects. It would help avoid those intense crunch times for the engineering teams.

Pay is Fine, Benefits Are Decent Overall
Pros: The health insurance here is pretty solid, better than I've seen at other smaller tech startups. As a Software Engineer, I really appreciate the uncapped PTO, which is a nice perk. The San Francisco office also has decent snacks and coffee.
Cons: Pay isn't top tier for a tech startup, especially if you're comparing to big tech. My base salary felt a bit low for a Software Engineer in the San Francisco market. Equity grants are okay, but they're not guaranteed money, you know?
Advice to Management: Consider reviewing compensation packages to stay competitive in the San Francisco tech market, especially for senior engineering roles. It's tough to retain talent with current salary bands.

Pay is Decent, Benefits Need an Upgrade
Pros: The base salary for a Software Engineer at Liminal is pretty competitive, especially for an early-stage startup in the tech industry. I got around $120k annually, which is solid for my experience and a remote role.
Cons: Health benefits really aren't great; dental and vision plans are pretty basic. There's no 401k match, which is a common perk and a big miss in the current job market.
Advice to Management: Seriously look into improving the health benefit packages. Adding a 401k match would make Liminal far more competitive for retaining and attracting top talent in the software development space.
