Solid Stability in a Corporate Environment
Pros: You get really good job security here, especially with all the long-term defense contracts. It's a huge global engineering company, so there's always work. The hybrid work model was also a nice perk for work-life balance.
Cons: Things can move pretty slow sometimes, which is typical for a big corporate company. As a Software Engineer, the pay isn't always competitive with pure tech firms. Career growth can feel a bit stagnant if you're looking for rapid advancement.
Advice to Management: Try to streamline decision-making processes to move projects along faster. Investing more in modern tech stacks and offering more competitive salaries for technical roles, especially for Software Engineers, would really help attract and keep top talent.

Decent balance for an Aerospace Engineer
Pros: Work-life balance here is generally okay for engineering roles. I could usually stick to a standard 40-hour week as an Aerospace Engineer. There's some flexibility for appointments, which is nice.
Cons: Sometimes projects in the aerospace industry can mean crunch periods, which can make it tough to switch off. It's a big corporate environment, so things can move slowly and feel a bit bureaucratic at times.
Advice to Management: Try to improve the flow of projects to reduce sudden crunch times. Empower teams more to make quicker decisions, especially within the Derby office.

Decent for a big aerospace company
Pros: The company offers good benefits, and you get decent holiday allowance. As a Project Manager, there's a strong team around you which helps manage workload. It's a stable place to be in the manufacturing sector.
Cons: Some project deadlines can be tough, pushing for longer hours, especially in the Derby office. Flexibility for WFH isn't always there when projects ramp up. It can feel like a traditional corporate setup.
