Hybrid Model Needs Work, But Team's Solid
Pros: The collaborative spirit within our `Milwaukee office` team is genuinely good; everyone helps out. We do have a `hybrid model` with some dedicated `WFH days`, which is a decent start for `software development teams`. It's a very stable `large corporate environment`.
Cons: The `onsite requirements` feel pretty rigid for a `technical role` like mine, even when the work could easily be done `remote`. If you're remote and an urgent issue comes up for `building technologies` projects, you're expected to drop everything and come in, which kills any `work flexibility`. `Work-life balance` suffers sometimes because of unexpected `onsite` requests.
Advice to Management: Please re-evaluate the actual need for `onsite` presence for `software development roles`. More trust in `remote work` would significantly improve `work-life balance` and `work flexibility` for your `technical teams` without hurting productivity.

Hybrid Model Works, Could Be More Flexible
Pros: I've enjoyed the hybrid model here in the Milwaukee office. For Controls Engineer roles, it's solid to get two days a week working from home, which really helps avoid the rush hour commute. It's a decent setup for a big corporate environment.
Cons: The flexibility isn't consistent across all teams; some managers are way stricter about onsite days. Full remote work options are pretty rare in the HVAC industry side, even when the job could easily be done from home. It's tough sometimes.
Advice to Management: Standardize the hybrid policy more and truly explore full WFH for roles that don't require physical presence. It would help attract and keep talent in building technologies.

Okay Flexibility for a Corporate Giant
Pros: I liked the hybrid work model they adopted. Having a couple of WFH days a week really makes a difference, especially for those long commute days to the Milwaukee office. It's solid for managing personal appointments.
Cons: Remote options are still pretty limited for many engineering roles; it's mostly hybrid. Sometimes, it feels like WFH is tolerated rather than fully embraced, especially if your project involves a lot of onsite coordination for HVAC systems.
Advice to Management: Keep pushing for more true remote opportunities, especially for roles that don't require constant physical presence. Trust your employees more with how and where they get their work done.

Okay flexibility for project roles, but it varies
Pros: I appreciate the hybrid work option, which is great for a Project Manager in the Milwaukee office. Being able to work from home a few days a week really helps with life stuff. There's also some autonomy in how I schedule my days, which is a big plus for work-life balance.
Cons: The flexibility isn't uniform. Some teams are stuck strictly onsite, and it feels like a postcode lottery for project roles. Also, the corporate structure means getting approvals for real work flexibility can be a pain sometimes. It's not a truly remote-first company.
Advice to Management: Leadership needs to standardize work flexibility policies across all business units, especially for roles in building technologies. Make it clearer what's expected from hybrid and remote employees to avoid confusion.
