WFH is great, but watch out for meetings.
Pros: I loved the remote work setup here. As a Community Operations Specialist, I could manage my schedule around local events for this online community platform, which was super helpful. The WFH flexibility here is definitely a big plus.
Cons: It's tough when you're on EST but most of the team is PST. Sometimes there are late meetings that mess up your evening, even with the hybrid model. Communication could be better about core hours.
Advice to Management: Please be more mindful of time zones for remote employees when scheduling company-wide meetings. Centralizing core meeting hours or limiting late calls would really help improve work-life balance for people not on PST.

Remote work is solid, just watch out for crunch.
Pros: I really appreciate the remote work setup. It's great to manage my own schedule from Chicago. The team is also pretty collaborative, making product development a good experience.
Cons: The work-life balance here is okay, but it gets tricky during crunch times. There are definitely periods where I've worked more than 40 hours. Sometimes engineering teams feel the pressure.
Advice to Management: Try to better manage project timelines. It would help prevent burnout for engineering teams and improve overall work-life balance.

Decent mission, culture needs attention.
Pros: I really liked the mission here. Working for a company focused on community building feels good. The remote work flexibility is also solid for most roles, like mine. We truly connect people through our social tech platform.
Cons: The company culture shifted a lot during my time. There's a disconnect sometimes between leadership and the individual contributor experience. It feels like career growth for non-engineering roles, especially as a Community Operations Specialist, isn't always a priority.
Advice to Management: Really listen to employees outside of engineering. Invest more in career paths for ops and content roles. Make sure the mission is felt throughout the internal culture, not just externally.
