ISD confronts and addresses threats to Singapore’s internal security and stability. For over 70 years, ISD and its predecessor organisations have played a central role in countering threats such as those posed by foreign subversive elements, spies, racial and religious extremists, and terrorists.

At the heart of our work are the collection of intelligence that enables us to size up the threats to Singapore’s internal security, and taking the executive actions necessary to overcome those threats. Every day, we collect and analyse intelligence, make impartial assessments, and take decisive action to counter the threats to Singapore’s internal security and stability, and sovereignty.

Okay for stability, but flexibility is tough
Pros: Job security is pretty solid in the cybersecurity field here. For a corporate environment in Chicago, the pay for security analyst roles is decent. We get standard benefits and the team is generally collaborative.
Cons: Work flexibility is a big issue for me. It's almost entirely onsite, even for internal security department tasks that could easily be done remote. Trying to schedule appointments or handle personal stuff during the week is a nightmare with their standard 9-5.
Advice to Management: Consider allowing more hybrid work options for internal security department staff. It would really help with morale and work-life balance for people, especially since many tasks don't require being physically in the Chicago office.

Pay's Okay, Benefits Need Work Here
Pros: The base salary for a Security Analyst is pretty solid, especially for Austin, TX. You get what you'd expect from a larger corporate environment, including standard PTO. The hybrid work schedule is a nice bonus too.
Cons: Healthcare premiums feel really high, which eats into your take-home pay. The 401k match isn't great and takes ages to fully vest. Don't expect many extra perks beyond the absolute basics.
Advice to Management: Look at reducing healthcare premiums and improving the 401k match. These are big factors for employee satisfaction.
