Decent Pay, Benefits Could Use a Boost
Pros: As a Junior Software Developer, I've found the base salary in the Geneva office pretty competitive for financial IT services. It's a decent start, especially for a mid-sized company here. The pension plan is also quite good, which is a big plus in Switzerland.
Cons: Annual raises are usually just okay, not really reflecting individual performance or market changes. Don't expect big bonuses unless you're in a very senior role; they're not a common thing for most of us. The overall benefits package just isn't as strong as some other tech firms in the region.
Advice to Management: Revisit the compensation structure, especially annual raises and bonus potential for all levels. A more competitive benefits package would really help attract and retain talent in this demanding financial IT services market.

Okay for Stability, Tough for Advancement
Pros: It's a solid place if you like stability, especially in the Geneva office. The pay for an IT Support Specialist role is decent for financial services here. You learn a lot about private banking IT operations.
Cons: Career growth can feel pretty stagnant. There aren't many clear paths to move up in technology roles. I've seen limited internal promotions, it's tough to get noticed for bigger projects.
Advice to Management: Management needs to create clearer career progression frameworks, especially for technical staff. Investing in more training programs or mentorship opportunities could help employees see a future here. It'd be great to have a path defined beyond just the initial role.

Hybrid Model is Standard for Fintech Roles
Pros: As an IT Consultant in the Geneva office, the hybrid model works. You get a couple of WFH days a week. It helps a lot with personal appointments.
Cons: True remote work isn't an option for most positions, especially within core banking IT. Managers can be inconsistent with approving extra flexible hours. Core hours are pretty strict here.
Advice to Management: Standardize flexibility policies across departments. Give managers clearer guidelines for remote requests and flexible schedules.
