Culture is intense, good for career growth
Pros: The pay and benefits are quite competitive, especially for Software Engineer roles in the e-commerce space. You get to work on impactful projects that reach millions. The hybrid work model is a decent perk, offering some flexibility.
Cons: The company culture can be quite demanding, with a strong focus on individual performance over team collaboration. It's not uncommon to see long hours, which can impact work-life balance significantly. Sometimes the Singapore office feels siloed.
Advice to Management: Focus more on fostering a collaborative environment across teams, not just within them. Try to address the long hours many employees face to prevent burnout.

Fast-paced culture, lots of learning
Pros: Teams are really collaborative, especially for software engineering roles in the e-commerce industry. You get to work with very smart people and learn a lot. There's a strong drive to innovate.
Cons: Work-life balance can be pretty tough, you'll often put in long hours. Even in a hybrid setup, the pressure is constant. The culture sometimes feels a bit too top-down, limiting team autonomy.
Advice to Management: Try to enforce better work-life boundaries for teams. Constant crunch isn't sustainable long-term. Also, empower middle management more to make decisions.

Growth is okay, but you have to push
Pros: You learn a ton, especially if you're working on new projects in the e-commerce industry. As a Software Engineer, I've picked up some really solid skills here. The scale of the big tech challenges is impressive.
Cons: It's tough to see a clear promotion path sometimes, even for experienced tech roles. Internal mobility within the Singapore office isn't super straightforward either. You really have to fight for those next steps.
Advice to Management: Make career paths more transparent, especially for mid-level engineers. Clarify promotion criteria and support internal transfers better.
