About you and this role –
Dow has an opportunity aligned to the Operational Excellence organization with a primary focus on implementation, support, sustainability, and application management of OPD (a web-based application that serves as a single tool for managing primary facility operation activities in support of the Make Product Work Process), and a variety of Digital Manufacturing Acceleration (DMA) tools and work processes within Operations including the Make Product Work Process (MPWP). You will work under the Operational Excellence organization, but support all the functions such as Operations, Analytical, Logistics, Maintenance, EH&S, ES&S, and Tech Centers.
This role facilitates collaboration between functions /disciplines and experts in the application of information technology (IT) within an Operations context. The basis of this collaboration is the shared objective of defining, delivering and supporting IT solutions providing optimal capability at minimal lifecycle cost.
Serves as technical support, and oversight of assigned work processes, procedures, and I/T applications, tools and systems aligned with one or more Operations IT/OT technology disciplines. Leads technical and work process support and oversight, best-in-class processes and applications by end users across sites. Requires advanced skills and expertise in a range of processes, procedures, and systems, along with specialized technical expertise within an operational process to lead a broad range of complex deliverables. About You and this Role
Dow is seeking a Lead Mechanical Engineer to join our Mechanical Department within Central Engineering Houston, which is Dow’s internal capital project design organization aligned to the Technical Expertise & Support (TES) organization. Central Engineering executes new and major expansions of chemical facilities for Dow and consists of locations in Houston, Texas and Chennai, India. As the Lead Mechanical Engineer, you will supervise and coordinate the work on capital project teams.
In addition, you will apply leadership skills with technical knowledge in the design, application, and procurement of mechanical equipment. You will also ensure the Mechanical Work Process Discipline (WPD) is used on capital projects to provide the design activities necessary for the construction and maintenance of process plants. You will provide technical support to others and will be involved with the creation and maintenance of global specifications. You will apply knowledge of mechanical equipment and systems, as well as applicable codes and standards, to ensure the most effective design. Role Description
The Payroll Specialist enables a best-in-class employee experience through exceptional service delivery and subject matter consultation for Payroll. This includes the management, implementation, and delivery of innovative solutions.
This role will lead the payroll delivery for United Kingdom in the EMEAI region. The main objective of this role is to ensure that the employees are paid on time and accurately, in compliance with the respective country tax-legislation, agreed labor conditions, company policies and regulations. In this role, you will require understanding of key business drivers for your discipline and function. You will need to be able to expand conceptual and working knowledge related to UK Payroll. You are expected to give informal guidance to new team members and explain complex information to others.
It is your responsibility to use technical experience, established practices, and personal judgement to analyze and resolve straightforward problems. Your performance impacts the quality of your own work and your team’s work and requires that you work within established guidelines and policies.
Responsibilities:
Delivering Payroll, Time & Absence, and Data Management in a productive and efficient manner.
Processing information with confidentiality and with a high level of accuracy.
Leading and partnering in strategic improvement projects, change projects.
Ensuring accurate and timely payments to employees and local authorities.
Perform activities according to the Dow internal control & compliance framework and lead coordination for internal and external audits.

Serve as an escalation point to address employee queries/cases on payroll related matters.

Qualifications:
You have a Masters or bachelor’s degree in HR, Finance, or related area.
You bring a minimum of 5 years of payroll experience.
Fluency in English (written & oral) is mandatory.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with Workday, ServiceNow & ADP Globalview, SAP.
Experience in UK Payroll is an asset.
Proficiency in any other European languages is an asset.
Understand organizational interdependencies and experience working across functions and cultures.
Experience in high volume operational environments is required.
Experience in internal controls through prior audit participation is preferred.
Experience with Workday is an advantage.
Good problem solving, critical thinking skills and managing competing priorities.
