Job description

Review journal entries to ensure journals booked are validated/ substantiated in accordance to company Journal Policies. Collaborate with GL Analyst in understanding the journal's supporting evidence & approval.
• Support & coordinate HFM related task from region perspective, including error validation, coordinate on half year/year end disclosures per Group timeline.
• Support GL Analyst in rectify issues or enquiries pertaining to GL transactions within the entities supported.
• Organize and host balance sheet review calls with stakeholders (FC, FD, FBP, FP&A, HR, etc) to review & form action plan on aged items >90days and irregular/material open items. This includes challenging on validity of these items.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and sub-module functions (FA, AP, AR, IC, CM) to execute the action plan to clear these items to ensure a clean balance sheet position, escalate to manager or senior leaders if required
• Review month end balance sheet reconciliation file on monthly basis, ensure correct support documentation, reconciling items & action plan entered & completed correctly by the reconciler.
• Understand and ensure compliance with Experian policies and be the first line of defense/ Gatekeeper of the books.
• Provides guidance to team members, advising team on any matters arising from GL process
• Ensure stakeholders queries are attended to and resolved in a timely, responsible and proactive manner
• Ensure GL team key metrics are met & maintained, e.g. reduce aged open items & maintained the quality of month end balance sheet reconciliation file.
• Continuously drive for improvement & streamline processes within General Ledger function.
• Respond/ handle ad-hoc requests/ divestments/ acquisitions in a timely and professional manner

A DAY IN LIFE

As a start up, you can expect your days to be pretty varied. Multitasking is normal, and sometimes, your skills or natural talents will be leveraged to support other business priorities. That said, the bulk of your working hours should involve you having to:

1. Billing & Invoicing:

• Prepare and issue customer invoices accurately and on time.
• Verify billing data (contracts, purchase orders, pricing) to ensure correct invoicing.
• Handle invoice adjustments, credit notes, and debit notes as needed.
• Maintain proper documentation for audit and compliance purposes.

2. Collections & Receipting:

• Monitor and follow up on outstanding customer payments via calls, emails, and statements.
• Maintain an organized collection tracker and escalate overdue accounts when necessary.
• Post customer payments (cheques, bank transfers, online payments) accurately in the system.
• Reconcile receipts against invoices and resolve discrepancies.

3. Revenue Recognition & Month-End Closing:

• Ensure proper revenue recognition in compliance with accounting standards (MFRS/IFRS 15).
• Prepare and post month-end revenue accrual and deferral journals.
• Reconcile AR sub-ledger to the general ledger and resolve variances.
• Assist in preparing AR-related financial reports and aging analysis.

4. Customer & Stakeholder Management:

• Respond to customer inquiries regarding invoices, payments, and account statements.
• Liaise with sales, customer service, and other departments to resolve billing disputes.
• Support internal and external audits by providing AR documentation.

5. Process Improvement & Compliance:

• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance AR efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, tax regulations, and accounting standards.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date AR records for audit readiness.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum 1-3 years of experience in Accounts Receivable or a similar role.
• Strong understanding of MFRS/IFRS revenue recognition principles.
• Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks) and advanced Excel (VLOOKUP, PivotTables).
• Excellent communication skills for customer and internal stakeholder interactions.
• Strong analytical skills with a high level of accuracy.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities.

Preferred (But not compulsory skills)

• Experience in shared services or multinational companies.
• Knowledge of GST/SST/VAT and sales tax compliance in Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Philippines, Indonesia, India and China.
• Familiarity with collection strategies and dispute resolution.

This role covers the activities post inputs are received from the source - retailers/vendors. Primary focus is to be the bridge between the Supplier Engagement team and other Ops pillars. System changes surveys, BAU query resolution, MSD tickets tracking and closure, KPIs reporting, productivity initiatives, RCAs are the key areas of work for this team. Apart from this, the team is also responsible to analyze, classify and management of the data. This role is accountable for handling data queries arising from BAU quality checks (RAP & DQI scoring).

Job Responsibilities

Retailer Onboarding and Engagement:

• Collaborate with the Supplier Engagement Lead on retailer onboarding.
• Ensure compliance for received data by working closely with retailers and NielsenIQ teams.
• Track retailer or vendor data quality and conduct regular reviews with internal stakeholders and retailers.
• Drive specific quality improvement goals for retailers, including change management related to data receipt.
• Handle large data sets with exposure to multiple formats and TLog data.
• Understanding of SAP, transactional data handling, FTP, and MFT setup and maintenance.
•  Ability to extract, transform, load, and clean large data sets from multiple sources.
• Familiarity with managing, querying, and aggregating large data sets.

System Change and Data Corrections:

• Plan and follow up on operational activities.
• Address data corrections due to MSD or other data errors through retailer discussions and planning with Ops.
• Track and resolve MSD tickets.
• Collaborate with INS team on results of eDive for System change.

Stakeholder Management & BAU Collaboration and Communication:

• Act as the internal SPOC for Ops and regional leadership teams.
• Provide updates on KPIs, market progress on retailer onboarding, BAU KPIs, and productivity initiatives. (internal SPOC for Ops)
• Communicate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve data issues.
• Provide timely updates and visibility to stakeholders.
• Contact data providers via email if data has not been received as per SLAs.
• Communicate with data providers on any discrepancies found in initial data checks, FoVa reports, shop usability, or other factory processes.
• Handle new store information and confirmation on store closures.
• Address new stores and closed store queries.
• Coordinate with Input Ops and Output for processing reissued data.
• Send relevant IO communications (internal) regarding new/closed stores, missing retailer data, estimation of retailer data, reissue of retailer data, store name changes, store mapping corrections, retailer expansion, and retailer data changes during BAU.

Quality Assurance:

• Conduct quality checks, including eDive primary testing of data, and RAP scoring, eDive.
• Address data queries arising from quality checks.

Opportunity Identification:

• Identify new operational efficient opportunities within existing retailers.
• Ops teams (NOC), and DA Analysts to realize these opportunities, consulting closely with the commercial or RV team as applicable.
