Reporting To Assembly Leader
Position Summary
- The Production Control Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and controlling all production scheduling, material control, and project progress activities for semiconductor cleaning equipment assembly projects.
- This position plays a key role in ensuring smooth assembly operations, on-time delivery, and efficient resource utilization while meeting quality, cost, and customer requirements. The manager will work closely with procurement, engineering, warehouse, quality assurance, project management teams, Japanese customers, and Japan HQ to coordinate production schedules and project execution.
Key Responsibilities
1. Production Planning & Scheduling
Develop and manage master production schedules for semiconductor cleaning equipment assembly projects.
Coordinate manpower allocation and production loading based on project priorities and customer delivery requirements.
Monitor daily production progress and adjust schedules to minimize delays and bottlenecks.
Issue and control production work orders and assembly schedules.
2. Material Control & Inventory Management
Coordinate with procurement and warehouse teams to ensure timely material availability.
Monitor material shortages, delivery delays, excess inventory, and supply risks.
Manage kitting schedules and material readiness for assembly operations.
Improve inventory accuracy and support stock control activities.
3. Project Coordination & Customer Communication
Work closely with project managers and engineering teams to align production schedules with customer milestones.
Coordinate production schedules and delivery plans with Japanese customers and Japan HQ.
Support production adjustments in response to specification changes, priority changes, or urgent delivery requests from Japan.
Participate in regular meetings with Japan HQ and customers to report production status, risks, and recovery actions.
4. Production Monitoring & KPI Management
Monitor and analyze key production indicators including:
On-Time Delivery (OTD)
Schedule adherence
Production efficiency
Assembly lead time
Inventory turnover
Material shortage occurrence
Additional responsibilities include:
Preparing weekly and monthly production reports for management.
Identifying production issues and implementing corrective actions.
5. Continuous Improvement
Lead continuous improvement activities in production planning and material flow management.
Establish and maintain SOPs for production control processes.
Promote Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and operational efficiency improvement activities.
6. Cross-Functional Coordination
Act as the coordination window between production, purchasing, engineering, QA/QC, warehouse, and logistics teams.
Escalate critical production risks and propose countermeasures to management.
Support customer audits and internal operational reviews when required.
7. Team Management
Lead and supervise production control staff and planners.
Provide training and guidance on scheduling, planning systems, and reporting standards.
Set departmental goals and evaluate team performance.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in production planning, production control, or manufacturing operations.
- Experience in semiconductor equipment, precision machinery, automation equipment, or project-based assembly manufacturing is preferred.
- Experience using ERP/MRP systems in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of production scheduling, material planning, and inventory control.
- Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings and machining drawings.
- Understanding of BOM management and engineering change control.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems.
