Based in our Pharmacy logistics department at Ipswich Hospital you will be expected to have experience in a Pharmacy Procurement setting with excellent communication and organisation skills.

You will be expected to work late shifts, weekends and Bank Holidays on a rotational basis and cover core Pharmacy functions e.g.; Stores, Distribution and Dispensary as part of this rota.

You will be the lead point of contact for enquiries relating to management of pharmacy and related stock within the hospital and for any external customers for whom we provide a stock-management service.

This person assists in updating and maintaining patient charge codes as well as acting as a resource for the Lawson system.  This person works with vendors, other hospital departments, as well as outside facilities to keep stock available as needed.   Assist in cost saving analysis and implementation.  Also assist in recording and reporting variances.  Clinically keeps abreast of new technology involving surgical supplies and purchases.

Shift: Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 4:00pm

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Responsible with perpetual inventory and/or maintaining par levels for supplies, implants and disposable equipment in Surgical Services.
• Assists with equipment control program 
• Monitors and coordinates product recalls under the supervision of the OR Manager
• Responsible for acquisition and disposition of all supplies, implants, and disposable instrumentation for Surgical Services.
• Assists in obtaining quotes for capital equipment
• Establishes and maintains inventory database in OR management information system.
• Responsible in updating and maintaining patient charge codes
• Coordinates the introduction of new supplies and new implants within Surgical Services.
• Responsible for entering preference cards into the scheduling system.
• Responsible for supply and implant reports in order to track variances.
• Attends and participates in assigned committees.
• Maintains package integrity and temperatures of synthetic and cadaver tissue in the Supply area
• Communicates in a manner that encourages a positive work environment.
• Takes problems to appropriate person for help with resolution
• Works together to promote teamwork
• Supports and participates in group purchasing and shared service efforts with other departments or institutions.
• Remains knowledgeable of current hospital contracts in relationship to supplies for Surgical Services
• Tracks compliance with contracts to ensure Surgical Services remains within guidelines
• Assists in maintaining a clean, safe environment in the Surgery and Supply area.
• Maintains Clinical or Non clinical Competencies
• Participates in hospital-wide products committee.
• Knowledgeable of scrub tech and circulating role for product anticipation.
• Heads recovery system for back-orders and recall items in the OR
• Questions surgeon before certain procedures for any anticipated variances in particular cases
• Takes into account size of patient in selection of supplies and implants
• Provides coverage in the absence of the Coordinator.

Education and/or Experience:

- Able to work and learn with Microsoft Word, Excel, Epic/Lawson and other Inventory Information Systems

- Related hospital experience in inventory control preferred.

Basic Salary: UP to $1800 + Allowance (1x meal provided)

Location: Bishan (Marymount MRT/ Bishan MRT)

Work schedule: 6 days work week, 11am - 9:30pm (With break in between) *7.5 hours per day

Roles and Responsibilites

• Thoroughly clean and inspect all equipment to confirm they are in proper working order.
• Set up stations with plates, dishes, and utensils, replenishing supplies as required.
• Make certain there is an ample supply of clean tableware for both the dining area and the kitchen.
• Conduct end-of-day maintenance for the dishwasher.
• Properly dispose of any damaged items.
• Sanitize and secure workstations upon completing the cleaning process.
