RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assisting in the creation of new models and techniques for analysing data from a risk perspective
- Assisting in automating current projects and creating a library for data visualization techniques
- Developing and maintaining quantitative tools and statistical models for analyzing and forecasting asset markets
- Helping to identify trading opportunities across asset classes
- Assist the EM Strategist in ad-hoc tasks and projects
PROFILE REQUIRED
ACADEMIC BACKGROUND AND CERTIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s Degree minimum; Economics, engineering, mathematical, quantitative, financial engineering background a plus
- Previous research experience a plus, but not mandatory
- Knowledge of programming is mandatory (R or Python) – R is preferred
OPERATIONAL SKILLS
- Motivation to learn about financial markets and a good team spirit
- Strong knowledge in market finance, mathematics or economics
- Strong programming skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Assist with compiling and analyzing macroeconomic and financial market data
- Contribute to the analysis and interpretation of research studies
- Be an independent self-starter and be able to work accurately under time constraints

Department Description
The Global Markets Quant research team is responsible for analyzing fundamental, macro-economic and financial market trends using statistical and mathematical techniques and providing investment advice to clients regarding currency and interest rate markets. The incumbent will work closely with the global quant team and gain experience in global markets, including key aspects of how to create models to analyse various aspects of financial markets. The role sits has a high level of interaction with the global research, sales, and trading teams.
