About BISI
The Centre for Behavioural and Implementation Science Interventions (BISI) is a new centre that aims to improve population health and well-being by accelerating evidence-based practice through the use of behavioural and implementation science.
The NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine (NUS Medicine) is recruiting a Senior Lecturer/Lecturer to work at the Centre for Behavioural and Implementation Science Interventions (BISI).
The recruited faculty members will hold their primary appointment at NUS Medicine. The level of appointment will be at Senior Lecturer or Lecturer and commensurate with the candidate’s experience and track record in education leadership, delivery and research. The recruitment package will include an attractive salary and office space.
The successful candidate is expected to work closely with the BISI Academic Director, Professor Nick Sevdalis, and the Centre’s leadership team to formulate plans for the further development and delivery of the educational and capacity building mission of the BISI Centre, with the ultimate aim to achieve global prominence as a capacity building centre in the areas of implementation and behavioural sciences applied to healthcare.
The successful candidate will be supported to lead or to contribute to a vibrant education team hosted within BISI and also develop a portfolio of educational research and evaluation activities. The candidate’s role, will include curriculum design, delivery and evaluation for undergraduate, postgraduate and continuing professional education across a range of course modalities – including MSc-level taught courses, short courses and masterclasses and executive education.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Associate Lecturer will be required to teach and conduct classes in disciplines relevant to their field of expertise and assist in the academic and administrative, consultative, and coordination tasks involved with these courses. Functions associated with the position include presentation of lectures and tutorials, assessment of students, and course administration in line with the University’s quality assurance requirements. The Associate Lecturer is also required to undertake research activities in line with the University’s research strategy. It is expected that the Associate Lecturer will work under support and guidance to develop expertise in teaching and research with an increasing degree of autonomy.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Teach at a level appropriate to skills, primarily at undergraduate and graduate diploma level including: assisting in assessment design; conducting assessment; course evaluation activities; gather and use student feedback to infor m improvement of teaching effectiveness.
Engage in scholarly and professional activities appropriate to the profession or discipline including: publishing and presenting outputs of scholarship at conferences and research forums; contributing to external research funding submissions.
Participate in University governance activities as requested and undertake administration related to the position.
KEY SELECTION CRITERIA
A Master degree in the relevant discipline; have commenced or enrolled to commence in Doctoral course is preferred.
Demonstrated ability to prepare and teach programs at undergraduate and post-graduate levels, including online delivery, and the ability to produce high-quality curriculum or program materials.
Demonstrated capacity to work effectively with and to negotiate sensitively with students especially on issues related to effective learning.
Evidence of scholarly output including publications, conference contributions and/or technical reports in the field.
Ability to engage in projects effectively with colleagues, industry and/or government.
Ability to work autonomously whilst displaying a strong commitment to work in a team environment, including the demonstrated ability to confidently and effectively work with colleagues, project team leaders, and industry partners.

SALARY
Vietnamese Staff: VND hourly rate per actual working hour
Associate Lecturer: VND663,000 gross/ hour
Lecturer: VND826,000 gross/ hour
The hourly rate you receive is based on an “actual working hour”.
For every hour of teaching, you will be paid for two hours. The two hours related to 1-hour teaching and 1 hour of lesson preparation, marking, and administration.

Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency as an Optometrist.
An Optometry qualification which enables registration by the Optometry Board of Australia or allows admission to the Optometry Council of Australia and New Zealand (OCANZ) Competency in Optometry Examination.
A qualification that enables scheduled medicines endorsement for a registered optometrist in Australia and New Zealand.
You will also be required to hold and maintain a current membership with Optometry Australia.
