The role
As a Security Specialist, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. This is a challenging role where you will be responsible for providing a high level of professional security support to a focused part of the Missions Systems business unit.

Day-to-day, you'll support the delivery of all security requirements, ensuring they are compliant with our policy and other internal requirements as well as all external contractual obligations and legal requirements.

• Responsible for authoring key security documentation, including plans, policy and processes to ensure they meet the requirements of the business and are compliant with the customers expectations
• Provide support and ensure compliance to prime contract obligations in accordance with delegated authority approval and security process requirements

What you’ll be doing…


- Supporting the OT Cyber Requirements Manager in the implementation and assurance of standards with Information Security communications and in improving the security culture of the organisation.
- Understanding OT functionality within the context of Nuclear Site Licence Conditions, Safety Cases, and Nuclear Site Security Plans.
- Understanding and advising on compliance with relevant regulatory and EDF Energy policy and Company Specification requirements. Escalating non-conformances as appropriate.
- Establishing and maintaining a good working relationship with on-station IT/OT Cyber & Information Security Station Leads, PCSSs, IT Services Team Leaders, Site Heads of Security, and other key personnel.
- Promoting Information Security policy, procedures and practice to staff, contractors and 3rd parties, particularly at the Nuclear Operations fleet power stations.
- Investigation, coordination and reporting of Cyber/Information Security incidents as directed by the OT Cyber Requirements Manager, ensuring incidents are followed up and addressed appropriately.
- Assisting with the development of strategies and solutions to mitigate identified Information Security risks and to assure the security of OT.
- Performing formal Information Security risk assessments to ensure that risks posed to the Nuclear Operations environment are correctly identified and appropriate mitigations selected.
- Providing additional support necessary to enable Information Security activities across Nuclear Operations in support of the wider Information Security team as directed by the OT Cyber Requirements Manager and Chief Information Security Officer (CISO).

This position works under the direct supervision of the Public Affairs Officer (or PAO designee) and supervises Emerging Voices (EV) Coordinators.

Main Responsibilities:

• Is the leading locally employed staff (LE Staff) adviser for the Mission’s Public Diplomacy (PD) engagement with the EV audience sector: primarily youth, minorities, and others who are able to influence Singaporean attitudes toward the U.S. using new, often digital, communication networks rather than prominent protocol positions or established institutions.
• Plans, develops, coordinates, oversees, and evaluates impact of all PD activities, projects and initiatives to engage EV audience sectors.
• Tracks trends in emerging networks through direct engagement, research, polling and statistical analysis and analytics.
• Designs and recommends PD strategies to connect with EV audience sectors to promote understanding of and support for U.S. policy and dispel inaccurate perceptions.
• Directly supervises three (3) staff (Experiential Learning Coordinator, Education Outreach Coordinator, and Exchanges and Alumni Coordinator).

Requirements:

• A university degree in Communications, International Affairs, American or Intercultural Studies, Marketing, or local equivalent, AND minimum of four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in a multilingual, multicultural, or multinational work environment with marketing, public relations, communication, or education duties as a significant part of the job is required. Experience with audience or market analysis and managing social media accounts is required. Plus, at least one (1) year of supervisory experience is required.

OR

• At least two (2) years of college or university studies in any field or other equivalent post-secondary education, AND minimum of six (6) years of progressively responsible experience in a multilingual, multicultural, or multinational work environment with marketing, public relations, communication, or education duties as a significant part of the job is required. Experience with audience or market analysis and managing social media accounts is required. Plus, at least one (1) year of supervisory experience is required.
• Must have excellent written and oral English communication skills, including public speaking, interviewing for evaluation purposes, and writing reports and material for publication.
• Must have strong analytic skills and the ability to conceptualize how best to use PD tools to move host-country attitudes in positive ways.
• Must have excellent customer relations, interpersonal, and cross-cultural communication skills and be able to identify and engage key figures critical to shaping local public opinion.
• Strong project management skills are required, including the ability to develop and oversee project budgets and to organize, run, and present projects such as workshops, seminars, digital video conferences, panel discussions, lectures, and camps.
• The ability to use social media and mobile platforms, photo and video sharing sites, podcast creation tools, and basic photo and video skills are required.
