The Registered Nurse Performance Measures Lead Quality Management Specialist position is located at the Quality and Patient Safety Service Line and is accountable to the Nurse manager or designee.
The Registered Nurse, Performance Measures Lead Quality Management Specialist assumes continuous responsibility for the operations of the Performance Measures Program and provides leadership as the content expert in the application of the performance measurement and improvement in patient care processes, organizational processes and/or systems, improving outcomes at the program or service level. The Performance Measures Lead RN is responsible for internal and external performance measurement monitoring with a focus on VA performance measures, any specialty program measures, EPRP, SAIL supporting indicators, and the integration of regulatory and accrediting body standards. The RN Performance Measures Lead applies data analytics to analysis and reporting of performance.
The RN, Performance Measures Lead has a global understanding of how their area(s) of responsibility supports the system's mission and vision. They are responsible and accountable for the planning, organization, and evaluation of effectiveness related to clinical, informatics, and/or administrative process changes, analyzing issues impeding change, developing corrective actions to expedite change, and assuring optimum utilization of available resources to maintain a climate conducive to quality patient care and employee satisfaction. The registered Nurse Performance Measures Lead functions as a formal and informal educator; serving as a liaison between internal and external customers, supporting factors that impact customer satisfaction, considering the client population, including age and life stages, state of health, race and culture, values, and previous experiences. They influence care outcomes by collaborating with members of the interdisciplinary team.
The duties and responsibilities for the Registered Nurse Performance Measures Lead, are include but not limited to:
- Effectively demonstrate proficiency in providing leadership to Service Chiefs, providers, and others in the application of improvement processes to patient care, and organizational processes through the measurement systems.
- Provides leadership in assessing, planning, designing, and implementing measures of performance and/or clinical performance improvement initiatives at the program or service level and improving performance in current measures.
- Demonstrates expertise in the interpretation and application of accrediting body standards and other agency requirements with a focus on performance measurement and improvement and monitor various aspects of care provided to patients.
- Analyzes findings and makes specific recommendations for improvements through various organizational forums and committees.
- Participates in surveys, administrative rounds, and other local activities as the QM Representative.
- Identifies and communicates to leadership, opportunities for improvement that will impact organizational performance
Work Schedule: Full-time, workdays/hours Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, must be flexible to meet the needs of the organization.
Telework: AdHoc only as needed
