Job Objectives

• Finance Business Partner (FBP)
  • Work with the SOCI (Schools, Offices, Centres and Institutes) during the review of the annual budgets.

• Work closely with Freight Operations, Trading, Execution and Accounting teams to ensure that financial transactions including trading accruals and provisions pertaining to trading books are accounted for properly in both trading and accounting systems, and that they are in line with IFRS.
• Liaise with Accounting teams in offshore Shared Services Centre to ensure that non-trading activities are booked accurately.
• Coordinate and liaise with external parties like external auditors, tax agents, local tax and government authorities where required, during quarterly GST filing, annual statutory audits, and annual MSI-AIS Award submissions.
• Engage actively in the ongoing process of automating tasks and constantly look for areas of improvement.
• Assist the Manager/Controller to assess and identify risks within the business and any other adhoc tasks as required.

Experiences:

The Finance, Risk Assurance & Procurement division is an imperative business partner to the accounts management and policy groups of the EDB. About the Finance, Risk & Assurance and Procurement (Overseas Operations) Team
The overseas operations team within EDB’s Finance, Risk & Assurance and Procurement (FRAP) division focuses on providing advisory on the procure-to-pay value chain for EDB’s overseas centres and officers.

The overseas operations team is embarking on system changes involving re-designing the business processes. Interns will be part of this project to assist with various areas such as information flow, system controls set-up, and business workflow designs.

For Interns to better understand the current workflows and systems to help with the review project, Interns will be assigned daily operational tasks and work alongside the rest of the overseas operations team.

[What you will be working on]

As our Intern, you will be required to/your deliverables are:

• Process payments to suppliers and reimbursement to staff involved in overseas operations.

About FRAP
As part of EDB’s continuous efforts to develop the suite of industries in Singapore, the Finance, Risk & Assurance and Procurement (FRAP) division is an imperative business partner to our officers in the industry and policy groups.

As a FRAP business partner, you will be responsible for providing advisory on the procure to pay value chain.
