About The Role

We are seeking a talented Software Developer specializing in UI Java Frontend development to join our dynamic team at INIT GmbH in Karlsruhe. In this role, you will be instrumental in shaping the future of mobility by developing and enhancing the user interface of our Leitstellen-Software (control center software). Your work will directly impact the efficiency and user-friendliness of public transportation management systems, enabling transportation providers to operate more effectively and deliver better service to their customers. You will be involved in the full software development lifecycle, from conception to deployment, ensuring that our applications meet high standards of quality, usability, and performance. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will contribute to designing innovative solutions that address the evolving needs of the public transit sector.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a technical background with a degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. You should have strong expertise in Java, JavaFX, and Eclipse RCP, with a solid understanding of software architecture principles. Experience working within cloud environments is advantageous, as is familiarity with agile development methodologies such as Scrum. Excellent communication skills in both German and English are essential, as is a passion for solving complex problems creatively. You should be eager to learn, collaborate, and contribute to a team-oriented environment, constantly seeking innovative approaches to software development challenges.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the complete software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to deployment and maintenance.
• Design, develop, and enhance the graphical user interface (GUI) of our control center software, ensuring it is intuitive and user-friendly for transportation operators.
• Collaborate with product owners and stakeholders to define use cases and translate them into functional UI components.
• Develop JavaFX components integrated into our Eclipse RCP-based applications, maintaining high standards of quality and performance.
• Contribute actively to agile development processes, including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives, to ensure continuous improvement and delivery.
• Implement and test new features, troubleshoot issues, and optimize existing functionalities for better usability and stability.
• Stay updated with the latest trends and best practices in UI development and incorporate them into your work.
• Engage in code reviews, documentation, and knowledge sharing within the team to foster a collaborative development environment.
