Creative Studio Vibe with Project Crunch
Pros: The best part about WildBrain is definitely the people and the creative atmosphere. Collaborating with so many talented animators and artists is inspiring. The company does a great job of fostering a sense of community, and there are often fun internal events. The animation projects themselves are usually interesting and high-profile, which is a great resume builder for anyone in the animation industry.
Cons: However, managing workloads can be challenging. Deadlines can feel very aggressive, leading to periods of intense pressure, especially closer to project completion. Sometimes communication across departments could be smoother to avoid last-minute rushes. While benefits are decent, compensation could be more competitive given the cost of living in Vancouver.
Advice to Management: Continue fostering the collaborative spirit, but explore ways to better manage project timelines and resource allocation to ease crunch times for the production teams.

Solid Place for Creative Talent in Entertainment
Pros: Working here as a Production Coordinator in the media and entertainment industry has been a good experience. The teams are really collaborative and supportive, which makes day-to-day tasks much more enjoyable. You get to learn a lot from experienced professionals, especially in animation and content creation. It's a creative environment, and working on well-known kids' brands is often pretty fun. The hybrid work setup in Vancouver, BC is also a big plus for work-life balance.
Cons: Career advancement can feel a bit slow, especially for Production Coordinator roles, and the path to promotion isn't always super clear. Sometimes you feel like you're waiting for opportunities. While the pay and benefits are competitive for the entertainment industry, they aren't always top-tier compared to other tech sectors. There's definitely room for improvement in compensation.
Advice to Management: Management should focus on creating clearer career progression paths for junior and mid-level roles, and consider reviewing compensation packages to ensure they remain highly competitive within the broader entertainment and tech industries. Improved transparency around promotion criteria would also be beneficial for employee morale and retention.

Decent place for animation work in Vancouver
Pros: There's a lot of great talent here and you get to work on some well-known IPs, which is a big draw. The flexibility for remote or hybrid work arrangements is a definite plus, especially in the current climate. It's a good environment to build your portfolio and learn from experienced professionals in the animation and media production sector.
Cons: Sometimes project pipelines can feel a bit rushed, leading to longer hours than ideal. Communication between departments could be smoother on occasion, and there's a feeling that some senior management decisions don't always fully consider the ground-level impact on teams. Pay is competitive but not outstanding.
Advice to Management: Consider improving cross-departmental communication to streamline project workflows and ensure team well-being is consistently prioritized, especially during crunch times.
