SUMMARY:
Software Engineer – Cloud & Web Applications (Java / Angular)
We’re looking for a
skilled and handsâon Software Engineer to develop, maintain, and support a
businessâcritical internal web application used in enterprise document management and storage processes. This role offers exposure to
cloudânative development, modern architectures, and productionâgrade systems in a fastâmoving Agile environment.
POSITION INFO:
Role & Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a critical internal web application (frontend and integrations)
- Design, build, and support solutions using Java, APIs, Microservices, and Serverless technologies
- Work in a cloud environment (AWS) including deployment, monitoring, and maintenance
- Provide 2nd and 3rd line production support, including troubleshooting, log analysis, and debugging
- Analyse and implement new system requirements
- Perform production and integration deployments
- Ensure solutions meet IT security, compliance, and quality standards
- Write clean, scalable, reusable, and performanceâoptimised code
- Participate actively in Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives)
- Conduct code and peer reviews
- Maintain documentation in Jira and Confluence
- Prepare deployment artefacts, plans, and technical documentation (ISO aligned)
- Support releases, hyperâcare, and system improvements postâdeployment
- Travel internationally when required
Qualification/Experience
Degree in IT or equivalent practical experience2–5+ years’ professional development experienceStrong experience with:- Java, Angular, HTML, CSS, JavaScript
- AWS, Docker, Kubernetes
- REST & SOAP APIs, Postman, SoapUI
- SQL (Postgres, DB2)
- Git/GitHub, IntelliJ IDEA
- Test automation experience (Selenium, Cypress, JUnit)
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams
- Ability to multitask across development, support, and investigations
- High attention to quality, documentation, and handover readiness
