JOB DESCRIPTION
We are seeking a highly skilled Software Developer with experience in legacy technologies for a contractor role. This position is office-based initially to ensure smooth onboarding and process handovers. The ideal candidate will be proficient in both frontend and backend development using older technologies and will have a knack for maintaining and upgrading these systems.
Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and enhance applications using VB6, ASP Classic, SQL, JavaScript, and HTML.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and deliver high-quality software solutions.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize existing applications to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Collaborate with the team to develop and implement software architecture and design patterns.
- Ensure code quality by providing constructive feedback.
- Utilize UI libraries, with a preference for Material Design Bootstrap, to enhance the user interface and user experience of applications.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Strong experience with VB6 and COM+ for building and maintaining applications.
- Proficiency in ASP Classic for server-side scripting and web application development.
- Solid understanding of SQL for database management, query optimization, and data manipulation.
- Strong knowledge of JavaScript and HTML for frontend development.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate with team members.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Material Design Bootstrap.
- Familiarity with best practices for legacy system maintenance and modernization.
