Pros: OUTsurance offers a structured environment for learning the insurance industry inside and out. There's a strong emphasis on teamwork and customer focus, which is great for developing essential skills. The benefits package is competitive for the region, and I felt my job was secure.
Cons: While leadership is generally supportive, communication channels can sometimes be slow or unclear, leading to occasional frustrations with process changes. Career advancement opportunities, while present, can feel a bit competitive and sometimes depend more on tenure than pure merit.
Advice to Management: Enhance transparency in leadership communication regarding strategic shifts and operational changes to ensure smoother team adaptation and reduce uncertainty.

Pros: The hybrid model offers some good work-from-home days each week. It's nice to break up the drive to the Centurion office. This setup helps a bit with managing personal appointments, especially for a Claims Specialist.
Cons: True work flexibility isn't really there. You don't get much say in your WFH schedule; it's mostly fixed. Changing a day for an unexpected reason can be a real hassle, which impacts personal plans.
Advice to Management: Consider giving teams more input on their hybrid schedules. A little more trust and autonomy around WFH days would significantly improve morale in the insurance industry.

Pros: You've got really friendly colleagues, which helps a lot when you're dealing with tough calls as a Claims Specialist. There's good team support within the Pretoria office, which is a big plus in the insurance industry.
Cons: The company culture can feel a bit stifling sometimes; it's not always open to new ideas. It's a very targets-driven corporate environment, so that pushes the stress levels up quite a bit.
Advice to Management: Try to empower teams more and really listen to employee feedback beyond just the usual surveys. A bit more flexibility would also go a long way.
